About this property

*NEW* Oceanfront Princeville Retreat with Bali Hai Sunsets

  • Summary:

The waves are right below you, Bali Hai fills the distance, and sunset can become the one plan nobody wants to miss. This ground-floor oceanfront condo at Pali Ke Kua sleeps four in one bedroom with a sofa sleeper and has the ease of single-level living. Start on your private lanai with the ocean in view, then take the community path toward Hideaways Beach for a swim or snorkel. A full kitchen, washer and dryer, and one bath cover the essentials without getting in the way. Princeville Center is close for coffee and provisions, while Hanalei Bay is down the hill for a longer beach day. This one is made for a couple or small family who wants Kauai's coastline to be the backdrop, not a drive away. Cooling comes from ceiling fans and portable fans. The bedroom is air-conditioned.

    The Space:

Wake up to breathtaking ocean views and the beauty of Kauai’s North Shore at Pali Ke Kua 111, a charming ground-floor, one-bedroom condo in Princeville, Hawaii. From the private lanai and comfortable living space, enjoy spectacular sunsets, star-filled night skies, and the soothing sound of waves along the shoreline below. Take in views of Hanalei Bay and the iconic Mount Makana, also known as Bali Hai, while keeping an eye out for seasonal whale sightings and the Hawaiian Nene geese that frequent the grounds.

This inviting retreat features one bedroom, one bathroom, and accommodations for up to four guests. The bedroom offers a comfortable king bed and air conditioning, while the living room includes a sofa sleeper for additional sleeping space. Updated furnishings create a relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after a day exploring the island.

The fully equipped kitchen features granite countertops and modern appliances, making it easy to prepare everything from a quick breakfast to a home-cooked dinner. Additional amenities include TVs in both the bedroom and living room, cable TV, complimentary WiFi, an on-site washer and dryer, and L’Occitane toiletries for added comfort.

Guests can also enjoy the community pool and the convenience of an on-site restaurant located above the pool area. Whether you're watching the sunset over the Pacific, enjoying the peaceful surroundings, or exploring Kauai’s beautiful beaches and scenic North Shore, Pali Ke Kua 111 offers a wonderful home base for your Hawaiian getaway.

    Guest Access:

Guests can enjoy Pali Ke Kua’s shared pool and hot tub, with nearby beach access and an on-site restaurant conveniently located above the pool area. Set along a scenic bluff, the resort offers beautiful ocean, mountain, and garden views. The condo’s bedroom is air-conditioned, and ceiling fans provide additional airflow throughout. On-site washer and dryer facilities add convenience for a comfortable, relaxing stay.

    The Neighborhood:

Pali Ke Kua looks across Hanalei Bay from Princeville's dramatic bluff. The community path leads toward Hideaways Beach, a small north-shore cove for a more tucked-away beach stop. Princeville Center is handy for breakfast, groceries, and casual dining, while Hanalei town is a scenic drive down the hill. The neighborhood is a good fit for travelers who like beach time, waterfall walks, and quiet sunset watching, with the trade winds and Bali Hai doing much of the entertaining.

    Getting Around:

Lihue Airport is about 40 minutes away via a scenic drive along Kauai's coast. A rental car is highly recommended since the North Shore's beaches, restaurants, and Hanalei's shops are spread out. Princeville itself offers walkable access to some shops and dining, while beaches like Hanalei Bay are a short drive. Parking is typically available in lots or driveways at most properties.

The unique and most beautiful view of Hanalei, sunset, the endangered nene goose population on property, and seclusion of the unit, felt very private. lots of dining and shopping options in town, short drive. wish we could've stayed longer! next time for sure

Gorgeous view!

The view is excellent! The bed is comfortable and the portable AC in the bedroom works well. The appliances are new, and the cookware and linens are of high quality.

Fantastic Place

Loved the views, the location, the proximity to places along the North Shore, and the access to the beach on site (a rarity in Princeville). The kitchen was well-equipped and the bedroom was comfy (cool with the AC) and spacious. Oceanfront views are as good or likely better than advertised.

Amazing Place to Stay in Kauai

The day starts with coffee on the patio while listening to the wake up calls from nature. Then it’s easy to get places on the otherworldly North Shore After exploring, it’s back to the comfortable unit to a chilled bottle of wine. Great place to relax. The unit is well maintained and has all things needed. We will be back

Memories

This was my first stay at PKK without my husband so my daughter came with me. Her comment was "I understand why you and Daddy loved Kauai". She loved the view and the peacefulness of PKK and the island. The view can't be beat. The Nenes and other birds were fun to watch, she walked the trail to the beach, I walked along the golf course. It's our "happy place"

Perfect Location

Great location and for the price. Was a great stay. The air conditioning in the bedroom was sufficient for sleeping, but the rest of the condo was uncomfortably warm and humid especially in the afternoon and evenings. Surfaces and floors were very clean, but nooks and crannies could use some work. Also, bed was very soft. Other than those nits, we had a great stay and definitely would consider staying here again.

Beautiful views close to north side attractions

The views are amazing and unit is small, clean and has everything you might need/expect: tv, coffee maker, ice maker in the fridge, and bonuses you might not expect like beach chairs and paved paths to nearby beaches. Be warned- the trek may only be 1/2 a mile but it's really steep - once you get there it's totally worth it. The other reviews mention the noise from upstairs and it's true, it can be loud. Princeville and Hanalei are really close and full of cute shops, restaurants and grocery stores for provisions.

Lovely views - in need of deep clean

The views were stunning and the place is generally comfortable, especially what I think is a newly renovated kitchen. The bedroom stayed cool with the portable a/c unit and fan. However, it is in need of a major deep clean - closet space, window wells, bathroom walls, plunger etc. They replaced the dirty shower curtain and we bought some candles to disguise the musty smell. The views and location make up for most but we wouldn’t book again unless it undergoes a major cleaning or partial renovation.

6/10 Okay

Suite 111 Nice view and kitchen but …

View is spectacular, kitchen is open and functional, but the bed mattress is horrific. Stained. Bathroom was full of little black flys so we kept the spiders in there to help get rid of them. Also the beach chairs were dilapidated and literally falling apart. I have no idea how these things slip past cleaning staff. Also pool is ho hum and there’s only one hot tub the size of a regular bathtub almost. We preferred other places in princeville .

Outstanding views

I’m almost hesitant to write this review…because I’m sure it will only make Pali Ke Kua 111 harder to book in the future. The unit is spectacularly situated along the cliffs, providing guests with some of the most incredible sunsets we’ve ever seen. Once we saw the sunset on our first night we quickly decided to enjoy all of our sunsets at Pali Ke Kua rather than head out to other destinations. The condo itself was extremely comfortable and we were impressed by the well-appointed kitchen (plenty of dishes, glasses, cooking utensils, useful appliances); surprisingly solid/speedy WiFi; modern amenities (new, large TVs and excellent W/D); and beach gear for guest use (umbrellas, towels, chairs). Comfortable furniture throughout and a relatively open floor plan for the living room/dining room/kitchen meant we could utilize different parts of the unit and still enjoy our time together. There was a lovely welcome gift of chocolates and cookies, along with a thoughtful note. Info about the unit and area is provided. The management of the unit is excellent. The excellent property location means you can walk to nearby must-visits that have limited parking (Hideaways and Queen’s Bath). But you still have a private and peaceful view from the Pali Ke Kua complex itself, without any crowds. We had a beautiful visit and hope to return again.
