7 BR Lake Barkley Estate - Perfect for Family Gatherings, Reunions & Retreats
10/10 Excellent
"Great place for our family! Host was awesome before trip and during. Plenty of activities for all. Used the dock, arcade games, pool table and out door sitting. Kitchen was stocked and rooms were nice. Love the counter space. We had a great time with this house!"
"This was such a peaceful property, close to a place to launch our boat. The room was clean and had everything we needed for our getaway. The little deck out back was lovely place for coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. Our host was so friendly and helpful about the area. Price for all we enjoyed was excellent! Would stay here again!"
"Great property right on the lake with access for fishing and swimming! Our boys attended the Major League Fishing camp and tournament in Murray. The house was perfect with all amenities! Loved the kayaks! Quiet neighborhood and amazing wildlife. Would love to stay again next year!"
"Beautiful and clean house. We loved sitting out on the deck. Very relaxing. We used the kayaks a day. The water was not anything I wanted to swim in, very muddy, but they were getting a lot of rain so I'm not sure if it is always like that. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook. You will need to bring/buy your own dish soap, laundry detergent, toilet paper etc. They just give you 2 of each to get started. It was nice to have the extra fridge downstairs. Getting downstairs you either have a spiral staircase that I think you need to be younger than 40 to use or you can go down a small incline to use the back door entrance. The beds were good except for the twin beds were not comfortable according to my family members. The pool table was still wobbly as previous people had commented. There is a very friendly neighborhood black cat that would go on walks with us. We saw a lot of deer. The host is very nice and quick to answer questions or fix any problem that arises. We enjoyed golfing at Boots Randolph, shopping in Cadiz, visiting the farmers market, Pennyroyal museum (Hopkinsville) and experiencing some different restaurants. I really liked the Camo Caravan in Hopkinsville. I didn't care for the Harper restaurants food, but the decor was cool. We brought our own grill because no one wanted to mess with a charcoal one. You will need to get wood if you want a campfire. We enjoyed getting to know this area of Kentucky."
"My only complaint is that we thought we were getting a private rental and turns out we were sharing the space with tons of mice. You can hear them in the walls, droppings everywhere and even a dead mouse in a trap in the hallway upon arrival. Management did not care at all. All kitchen drawers had droppings in them and everything had to be washed before we could use it. Multiple bait stations throughout the home and evidence of mice in every single room throughout the stay. Grill was also broken and unusable and that was disappointing because we planned a couple meals around the grill and had to change plans. The home itself was great and extremely clean other than the mouse issue which is no fault of the cleaning crew."
