Wonderful!
I've been going to Rocky point for over 50 years. Playa encanto is the best beach there for me. Casino by the sea is a cute little place reasonably priced. The host is wonderful and the view out the windows and on the back. Patios is marvelous 10 steps from inside to the beach. I love this place

Great place
Casita by the sea is a nice little gem tucked away beach front in playa Encanto. The owners are on site and will help you with anything you need. They also have a great restaurant for breakfast and lunch, i highly recommend. You will love the beach and the kick back vibe.

One of my Happy Places!!!
Second time in a row I spent my birthday here at Casita by the Sea. A clean, totally equipped, comfortable gem ON THE BEACH!! I'd walk my pups on the beach every morning and usually see no one else. There is some deferred maintenance, but that is the only drawback in my little paradise. So long as you don't book in mid July I encourage you to experience Encanto Beach. 20 minutes from downtown and out of this world. Enjoy! Tell the charming Gina and Marie I said hi!

The sofa that was provided for sitting was a very torn up. Had no proper pillows. It was a sleeper sofa and when you sat down your back sides slid to the bottom metal bar on the bed. Extremely uncomfortable. I would have appreciated a broom and dust pan to help keep the sand out that we tracked in. If those were corrected we would stay again.

Thank you for your comment. Appreciate the complaints. Since no guest ever complained about the bad accommodations and I personally don’t use the casita I assumed that it was ok. Most of our guests are here to be out on the beach but there are always one that not happy. Unfortunately your health issues kept you inside therefore you couldn’t enjoy the patio and the beach. Hope you get well soon.

perfect for me
I've been going to Rocky Point for almost 50 yrs. Playa Encanto didn't have even one house on it. You could drive on the beach and camp on the beach. (be right by the water) I am glad that you can't do that anymore, on any of the main beaches, keeps things much better for the environment. This place was almost perfect for me. Wake up, make coffee, take 25 steps and I'm on the beach. No crowds, most early mornings no one on the beach. Photos on Vrbo are spot on, exactly as pictured. No issues of any kind.

The house , the neighborhood , all fine. The Hostess not accommodating , not ethical and not truthful . She just wants money . When we discussed a delayed arrival about a month early prior to check in , she expressed relief as there was a broken window in our unit and she said it could not be repaired by our original check in date. Within 48 hours of arrival Heather became very sick , consulted with her Doctor and after a week of still not recovered, it was advised to leave by her doctor. We chose to leave out of abundance of caution for her health . We only stayed a total of 9 Nights out of a prepaid stay of 32 nights and Marie flatly disagreed to any compensation. She has a sign posted in the unit offering direct 2 night min stays OFF of VRBO that require only a cash payment with a small Venmo deposit. Clearly, willing in those situations to circumvent the standard we were harshly held to in her VRBO listing that she says is not possible to provide ANY part of a pricing adjustment no matter why. So we had to leave and even though our unit was not ready on our original arrival date, we received nothing at all no partial or any consideration. The bright spot was Daughter in law , Gina , who was compassionate , understanding and helpful ensuring messages were received by the Hostess that we had sent and Marie ignored . Gina was surprised by Marie failing to give any compensation but she had no ability herself to help us further. That is all handled by Marie who refused.

Keep in mind you will be driving out of town, and after having a couple of delicious drinks at JJs cantina at La Cholla that was epic for us- getting lost and asking directions lol Our phones didn’t work for us the whole time, and the internet was sketchy so we were on a wing and a prayer. Everything was wonderful- her decorating, cleanliness, hospitality and the beach was enchanting!

We arrived right after TS Kay and found this Casita to be exactly like the pictures! Clean, comfortable and homey. We had a front row seat to the beach, and the whole trip was the best few days of joy! Our host was so attentive and friendly! We will be back!

Great place, friendly hosts, right on the beach!
We had a great time at the casita. The hosts were wonderful and we enjoyed the quiet beach location. The casita has everything you would need. The entrance to the community has security and we felt safe and had no issues whatsoever.

Beautiful sunsets!
Beautiful property right on the beach, nice and clean. Maria and Gina were very helpful with directions and getting us settled. It's about 10 miles from town which is great for peace and privacy but you'll want to grab some snacks/ice before you get to the casita.

We had such an amazing trip. Gina was awesome, Casita was amazing and was just steps from the beach. The beach was quiet and super clean. It is a bit of a trek into town so come prepared. We will definitely be returning. 😊

Perfect Slice of Beach Heaven
The Casita by the Sea is lovely! Very reasonably priced, ON the beach, nicely equipped, in short perfect! Size is perfect for two or four if privacy is not an issue. Close enough to town for daily visits, but remote enough to sometimes offer sole occupancy of the beautiful seaside. Hospitable, friendly hosts. We will be back!!!

Lovely Casita
This was our second stay at Maria's place. We and our pup Phoebe thoroughly enjoyed walking the almost deserted beach, relaxing under the palapas, catching up on our reading and preparing some simple meals.

Like having your own private beach
This was our first trip after 2 years of pandemic. And it was so wonderful! The big blue skies, warm sunshine, and sparkling ocean right at our doorstep! The beach is pristine - miles of soft sand with all kinds of interesting shells to collect. We walked for an hour and only met 3 or 4 other people! At night you can stand outside and see so many stars. The accommodations are lovely. Well equipped kitchen, comfy bed and friendly hosts. A perfect getaway!

Just what we needed!
We enjoyed the most relaxing & quiet stay at Maria's Casita. The location is unparalleled & the views never got old. This was our 1st visit not staying at a resort & what a change of experience! With the beach just steps from the back door, a fire pit to stay warm & enjoy the sunsets & evenings outside, we didn't need anything more! Gina met us upon arrival & checked on us daily when she headed into town. We cannot wait to spend another long weekend here! We went into town twice for meals & spent the majority of our time enjoying the beauty of the Sea! Thanks for having us!!

Easy trip into Mexico and back to USA
January is off season. So be prepared to bring casual wear that includes layering. Leggings, long sleeve tees, and a fleece vest were the uniform for walking the expansive beach. I brought a cooler with food for the week. The nearest grocery and gas is a half hour away and road conditions can be challenging. The cottage is cute and all that we needed with the exception of the shower. Very difficult to regulate. And a narrow window for hot water. Loved being by the sea. Beautiful sunsets. A quiet getaway.

Another wonderfully relaxing stay!
This was our second visit to the casita, and we will be back. It is the perfect place to completely chill and do mostly nothing - count pelicans, walk the empty beach, read, listen to the water and enjoy the beautiful sunsets. This time we brought our own food and alcohol so we only went into Puerto for shopping or a distraction. A lovely getaway.

A Halloween horror story
Let me start with the good. The unit is nice and it’s right on a lovely quiet beach. We planned to stay for two weeks. After we arrived we enjoyed the sunset laying on the sand and the views of the night’s sky and Milky Way seemed to make the very long drive beyond Puerto Penasco seem worth it… Then, the horror began. Tired from our long journey, we laid in bed looking forward to a restful nights sleep. It came…. A large cockroach scurried across us as we laid there. On our bed!!!! This began an epic battle which ended in the untimely death of our new “friend”. But, like any horror story it got worse. As we removed from the first roach, one of his friends also crawled up the bed and onto the headboard. Now frantically racing around trying to kill it there was another, then another. In the bedroom. In the living area. Crawling up the kitchen counter. It was a full on invasion. We frantically called the owners who came quickly and were just as horrified as we were. Maria agreed we could not stay there, and offered to move us into their guest room as our unit was not habitable. By this time we were completely freaked out, having seen more than 10 roaches in a 15 minute span, and realized we could not stay. It was nearly 10pm, but I was able to find a place at a resort. Maria helped us pack, and as she grabbed one of our bags another roach crawled off it and she recoiled. She hugged us as we left and told us we would get a full refund. The next morning, we inquired about how that would be refunded only to be told by Maria that because giving a refund would impact her Premier Partner status with VRBO she would not be refunding our stay. Please keep in mind - it’s not because we did not deserve it or because she had not promised us a refund - it was because of her status. We tried to work with her, and have tried to work with VRBO. Initially VRBO agreed we should get a refund, then they later emailed us a form letter that they would not be. Apparently the guarantee VRBO claims to provide is not worth anything. So now we are out the cost of the unit that was inhabitable, and paying double for a place that is not the Roach Motel. Be warned. There are many good reviews at this unit - and perhaps this was some strange Halloween experience. But the lesson here is one of disappointed. We took Maria at her word, and her decision to put her status with VRBO over her guests should be a warning to everyone, and VRBO’s lack of

Beautiful beaches
Lovely beach, a bit far from town but if you plan to just stay at the house it is worth the extra drive. The main bed is very comfy, the pull out sofa a bit rough but okay for the kids. Owners were great, available for questions as needed and allowed us to use their fridge freezer as ours wasn’t keeping the food cold enough sonce it was so full. Would definitely visit again.

Wow what a mini vacation
My hubby and I and our 2 fur babies had an amazing time. We really enjoyed our stay and Richard, Gina & Loki we’re fantabulous host! The beach was perfect and so peaceful and what a beauty! Month in Paradise
The casita was perfect. I got to experience a full month of sunsets, stars, beach walks and swimming. The tide pools are beautiful. I felt very safe alone 3 of the 4 weeks. Had a great time paddle boarding when my partner came for a week. It is very isolated so bring what you need. My little dog and I felt very much at home and were grateful to Gina, Maria and Richard!

Get your water "fix" sand and water 5 feet from front door.
Great location, super private beach. Great for walking, swimming, shell hunting. Unit is ideal for 2 adults and one small dog. 35 minute drive to town, restaurants. Eat lunch out, stop at the fish monger, buy shrimp, scallops !! and have dinner on your own sea front patio.

Lovely Property
This is a great property for 2 adults and perhaps 1 or 2 children. It is small, but contains everything you need. It is fully equipped if you want to cook. There are really no restaurants in the close area, but the drive into town is not bad. The beach is lovely, we had a great stay.

This was the perfect beach get away for my husband and I! All the special touches really made our stay enjoyable! It’s far enough away not to be bothered but close enough to town to run in and do shopping or grab a meal if you so desire. Gina and Marie were very welcoming and helpful!

This was a wonderful place to stay for a quiet and relaxing time away. Bob (Rich :) ) and Gina were perfect hospitable hosts. The casita was very comfortable with everything we needed. Chilled out at Casita by the Sea
Truly one of the most relaxing vacations we have enjoyed. Unit was a studio with compact kitchen and bath. The queen bed was very comfortable. Tastefully decorated with a light and airy ambiance. The beach was only steps away and was non commercial and so peaceful. Gina and Robert made us feel at home. We will return when we need some chill time in Playa Encanto!

Perfect weekend getaway
Absolute best place to relax & unwind... location and casita were perfect. The hospitality that we were shown was truly appreciated. Robert and Gina (in Maria’s absence) went above & beyond to make us feel welcome and answer any questions we had. Enjoyed breakfast on our way out and got to meet Maria on her return.
