The food in the restaurants was exceptional. The food in the buffet was very good--definitely above average for a buffet, and far better than the buffets we've experienced in Cabo or CancĂșn. The staff on the 'Select' side were great in every way, and I would have given the staff 5 stars; however, we had a negative interaction with an employee at the main desk in the Casa Marina and Reef. We mistakenly went to that desk to check out, and she was nothing short of rude, treating us like we were her employees (and she would be a terrible boss), instead of valued guests. No one told us that we needed to take our beach towels to the desk on the Select side at checkout, so, communication could have been better. When we went back to the main desk (because it is the only way to get to the parking lot), we observed the same employee talking to other guests. She was ok with Latino guests, but appeared to have no patience when talking with Americans (and I even speak fluent Spanish). Other than her, the site, services and personnel were great.
