"We enjoyed our stay at Painter’s Lodge, but it’s important to set expectations. There was nothing wrong with our visit — the staff were kind, the setting was peaceful, and we felt comfortable. However, we were surprised by the overall condition of the property. The photos online don’t fully reflect how much of the lodge is ready for a refresh. That said, the location is absolutely second to none. We had an ocean‑view room with a deck, and we loved sitting outside every morning and evening. The views and the atmosphere were truly special, and that experience alone made our stay worthwhile. Once this property gets the update it deserves, it’s going to be spectacular. Even as it stands now, I would still recommend staying here — just know that the rooms and grounds are a bit tired, but the incredible location more than makes up for it."
