Welcome to PEACE, a magnificent modern tiny house in the heart of the Canadian boreal forest.

*If you plan to visit our home during the winter season (November 1st to April 15th), please note that you will need a car with all-wheel drive (AWD, 4x4) and winter tyres to access the property. A shuttle service is also available, please contact the host for more information!

The accommodation is designed to comfortably accommodate 4 guests, however it is possible to accommodate up to 6 people using the sofa bed located in the living room.

**Please note that a ladder connects the two floors inside the apartment. It is possible to close the trapdoor on the floor for safety reasons. Standard sized stairs connect the 2 floors from the outside and provide access to the roof terrace for the Spa!

The kitchen is fully equipped with modern amenities: refrigerator, microwave, oven, hob, toaster, Nespresso coffee machine, utensils, and a complete set of cookware to prepare delicious meals. The terraces and outdoor amenities, such as the spa, barbecue, and wood-burning fireplace, are available year-round, allowing you to enjoy the outdoors in any season.

Treat yourself to an intimate experience surrounded by nature while remaining close to services. A 10-minute drive away, you'll find a high-end supermarket, a bakery offering fresh croissants and speciality breads, and a diverse selection of local restaurants. A multitude of activities are available directly on site thanks to the Sentiers du Moulin recreational trails, which also offer equipment rental.

A 30-minute drive away is Old Quebec City. The walls of Old Quebec contain 400 years of history and culture. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is also the cradle of French civilisation in North America, a small slice of Europe, with the architecture, cuisine, and charm that this entails. In just a few hours, you can visit the scene of world-changing battles, enjoy an authentic Canadian meal overlooking cobblestone streets or the St. Lawrence River, and browse the works of multiple generations of local artists.

The accommodation is located in Lac-Beauport, a small municipality just north of Quebec City. More specifically, the home sits atop the private Maelstrom Estate, a unique site dedicated to short-term holiday rentals and outdoor recreational activities. To minimise the impact on the surrounding nature, the municipality's architectural requirements impose a maximum area of 20m2 per floor per 10 acres of land for each home. That's a lot of forest surrounding the house, ensuring unparalleled tranquility and privacy! In fact, Maelstrom is a 900-acre mountain offering panoramic views on all its slopes. An extensive network of recreational trails connects all of Maelstrom's properties. The trails are managed by a local non-profit organisation called Sentiers du Moulin. Visit their website and stop by their beautiful visitor centre located at the base of the mountain. This is where the equipment rental shop for all the on-site activities is located.

The property is located in the mountains (altitude 550 metres), accessible via a 4-kilometer private road. To get there, you must have a car or book a shuttle service directly with us. During the summer season (from April 15th to November 1st), any type of car is suitable for accessing the property.

WINTER STAYS: During the winter season, from November 1st to April 15th, an all-wheel drive vehicle (AWD, 4x4) is required to access the property. During the winter season, it is also possible to arrange a shuttle service with us. This service must be scheduled in advance and includes an additional fee of $100 CAD + taxes.

TAXI and UBER: Due to the unique location of the property, it is not recommended to rely on taxi or Uber services for transport. These services are rare in the area, so finding transport may be difficult or impossible, and you may have difficulty leaving the property. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding transport. It is important to note that there are two ways to move between the two floors of the house: 1- Using the ladder located inside the house. (It is possible to completely close the floor hatch for the safety of guests). 2- Using the exterior stairs. (Standard full-size stairs)
