"We are in New Zealand, this was a birthday present from me to my wife and daughter who share a birthday only a few days apart. It was for them the Melbourne experience and a 5 day shopping trip. (yes, I know, I'm brave). Firstly to make it an occasion I rang the receptionist (Kate) on the morning of their arrival and asked whether the hotel could do something "special" for their arrival. That eve my wife rang and raved the hotel had presented a bottle of wine and also a personal card from Kate saying Happy Birthday, and enjoy your visit to Melbourne. And people, it's this sort of personal service that makes one hotel stand out from the rest, and this one certainly does. They also raved about the real friendly service from the rest of the staff. They loved their four night stay. We will return!!"
