The location is excellent - about a 2-minute walk from the Rabat bus terminal, around 10 minutes to grocery and convenience stores, and just steps from the Mdina Gate. The house has lots of charm and character and was well stocked with cooking supplies, bath and beach towels, shampoo, and soap. It was clean, and honestly looked even better than the photos thanks to the beautiful vine in the living room. The Wi-Fi only worked reliably in the living room, but that’s understandable given the thick limestone walls.Unfortunately, we experienced multiple safety issues during our stay. A dresser drawer unexpectedly came completely out and fell on my mother’s foot, and later the shower curtain rod fell and hit me on the head while I was showering. What was most disappointing was the host’s response. Rather than offering to fix the issues during our stay or showing concern, they dismissed them as being due to the style of the furniture. We understand that older homes have quirks, but guest safety should be taken seriously.Overall, the home has a lot of potential because of its location and unique character, but we hope these maintenance and safety issues are addressed for future guests.
