The Fantail`s Hideaway is the perfect home for holidays that deserve a little something extra: spacious and luxurious, with a high-stud open-plan living area, a chef`s kitchen, spectacular views and a large lawn. Commemorate your arrival with a photo of the bespoke piwakawaka wall mural by Kiwi street artist Flox.

Sunlight and views over Raglan (Whaingaroa) Harbour and the Tasman Sea stream through large double-glazed sliders and across the north-facing deck, framed by Mount Karioi. Designed by architect Tane Cox, the home has 360-degree views of harbour, ocean, mountain and farmland and a beach chic interior in soft blues and cream. In the evening, snuggle around the woodburning fire under a starry sky.

The master has a king bed and ensuite. Bedroom 2 has a queen bed and office space; Bedroom 3 has a queen bed; Bedroom 4 has two single beds for younger family members. The family bathroom has a bath and shower with eco-friendly products, plus a separate toilet room.

Sustainability is built in: filtered rainwater (please be mindful of use in drier seasons), eco-friendly waste treatment and solar-powered hot water. We provide linen, towels, toiletries, tea, coffee, milk, dishwashing liquid, dishwasher powder, firewood and laundry powder. You will have the entire property, and every reservation enjoys a complimentary bottle of bubbles on arrival.

Rock-It Kitchen cafe is a 2-minute drive, Ngarunui Beach and Wainui Reserve are 2 minutes by car, and Raglan township is 7 minutes away, so a car is essential. Enjoy native birdwatching and the cows next door. Off-street parking fits 3 to 4 cars plus a boat and sports gear (the driveway is steep, so enquire if bringing a boat). Children must be supervised: the surrounding bank is very steep.

- Strictly no smoking indoors. If you smoke outdoors, remove butts from the property on departure.
- Residential area - Quiet time from 10pm to 9am.
- Events and parties are not permitted without prior arrangement. Guests limited to number booked. Extra charge if exceeded.
- BBQ (if available): clean with supplied cleaner after use. Cleaning fee if left dirty.
- Rubbish: 1x full blue bag allowed. Take extra with you or use a local refuse station (see house info folder).
- Recycling: 1x full bin per stay. Extra: take with you or $25/box disposal charge.
- No EV charging.
- Left belongings: $20 minimum return fee plus courier cost.
- Motion-sensor security camera may be present at entrance door. Footage may be reviewed if misconduct is suspected.

To protect your stay and our properties, ID verification is required before access details are released, and your booking is conditional on completing it. After payment, you`ll get a secure link to the property portal and will need to verify with a photo ID and a quick selfie — access details are released automatically once it`s done. Takes a few minutes; your data is handled securely by the portal operator, SuiteOp. Failure to complete ID verification will result in your booking being cancelled. Cancellation fees may apply.
