Great family-friendly Farmhouse with pool on large site. Peaceful rural region.

"We had a fabulous stay! Kids had a marvellous time! House was spacious, games room was amazing- keeping kids busy and outside was really fun! We all enjoyed the pool, the little ones loved the little bikes and play house too, table tennis was great! There was just so much to do, we only went out for a short time each day just to see the area a bit - (there is a hands on goat-milking in Nantieul which kids enjoyed, and a lovely craft market in Vertieul) but we mostly made the most of the house and garden. Thomas was so kind and accomodating -helping us out with everything we needed. Thank you so much!"

"Had a wonderful stay at Hobogite.The booking process and communication with the owners was excellent from the off.After a long day of travelling we found the gite with ease thanks to the directions provided and Google. The property is visually stunning, photos did not do it justice. Located in a rural area accessed by very narrow roads there area was quiet. The occasional car, the birds and the nearby Trainline were all that could be heard. Please don't be put off by the train. The noise is not intrusive or regular.The property had everything you could ask for and the welcome basket a lovely touch. We certainly wanted for nothing when we stayed. The pool was amazing especially arriving at the tail end of a 37 heatwave. When it did cool to 25 the pool being heated meant it was not so much a shock to get in. The WiFi did drop out occasionally and could not always be rebooted instantly but always returned and we would have liked more comfortable seating immediately outside the gite. These are not issues that tainted our enjoyment in any way.Ruffec, just 5 minutes away has plenty of options for your supplies and there are plenty of nice restaurants in the area also. Our preference was Auberge de Noyer. We normally choose a different area to holiday each year but we are seriously considering rebooking.Thank you for a wonderful stay"

"Our family stayed here for four nights and it exceeded every expectation. If anything, the photos and description don’t do it justice – it’s even more beautiful in person.From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcome. Ernest had thoughtfully prepared a generous welcome basket and was a fantastic host throughout our stay. He was always responsive, genuinely kind, and it’s clear he takes enormous pride in his property. Everything was absolutely immaculate.The house is equipped with everything you could possibly need, including so many thoughtful extras you don’t realise you’ll appreciate until they’re there. The luxurious toiletries, pool towels, and even plenty of toilet rolls made it feel more like staying in a boutique hotel than a self-catering holiday home.The pool was outstanding and the peaceful grounds made it so easy to relax and unwind. The barn was another brilliant space, giving us even more room to enjoy our time together. We travelled with our two teenage daughters, who were delighted with the excellent WiFi, pool table and table football, so there was something for everyone.This is one of the best holiday rentals we’ve ever stayed in. Beautiful, comfortable, peaceful and exceptionally well cared for. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it and we’re already looking forward to coming back."
