"This is my third stay at the Indigo and it did not disappoint. My daughter is a U.S. student at Durham and so we love the proximity to her college and the town. The staff is very helpful and accommodating, and the property is clean. The bar and restaurant are both good as is the cafe in the lobby. "The hotel is easy to find, and ideally located for visiting Beamish Museum. It is very attractive, and the bar and restaurant areas have great views westwards over the valley. Each ground floor room has its own car parking slot - wonderful! The staff are friendly and helpful, and a small bonus for me, the malt whisky is cheaper than the pub down the road .... I would definitely stay here again if visiting the area, there was nothing I did not like."

"Lovely clean room and very comfy bed. Plenty tea and coffee in the room and towels. We were in room 2 which has its own decking terrace. The main car park is at the back of the hotel and there are a couple of spaces at the front too but both sides have very close access. We had the full English breakfast both mornings which is not included in the booking price but worth every penny. It really set us up for the day. We're just home after a two night stay and have already booked again for our next visit. I would definitely recommend The Moorings. "
