About this property

Niboban Cabin 2 - Cute Niboban Cabin on Rangeley Lake!

  • Niboban Cabin #2 is a beautifully crafted cabin nestled on the scenic shores of Rangeley Lake in Maine. This cozy vacation rental offers guests shared access to the property's exceptional waterfront amenities, including a sandy beach area, multiple docks, and serene walking trails that wind through the picturesque surroundings. Perfect for those seeking relaxation or outdoor adventure, Birchwood Cabin combines modern comfort with the natural beauty of Rangeley Lake.

This cabin is located at historical Niboban. The original Niboban Camp was built sometime prior to 1915 and was at one time used as a farm. In the 1920s, it was once a girls camp. In the early 2000s, the original buildings at Niboban were torn down and new cabins and a lodge were built. There is a shared swimming cove and a swim float, with one of the few sandy beaches on Rangeley Lake. Docks on the property can accommodate boats up to 20' for daytime docking only. Please note, overnight docking is only allowed using the privately owned moorings.

Rangeley Village and downtown Oquossoc are just 7 miles away in opposite directions. Cross country skiing and mountain bike trails are available nearby at the Rangeley Lakes Trails Center. There are public tennis courts in both downtown Rangeley and downtown Oquossoc. Located close to Saddleback Mountain for skiing, boarding, hiking, and mountain biking!

Sleeping Arrangements: First Bedroom Main Floor King, Second Bedroom Main Floor with Two Twins. Sleeps up to 4 guests.

Location: On the southern shore of Rangeley Lake near South Cove. 7.1 miles to downtown Rangeley, 7.5 miles to downtown Oquossoc, and 13.3 miles to Saddleback.

Snowmobile Access: Niboban has a connector trail to ITS84, so guests may enjoy snowmobiling directly from their cabins - to nearly 150 miles of groomed trails, with connections to New Hampshire and Canada.

FAQs: There is no dishwasher or TV! This community has shared docks, but they're not intended for tying up boats long-term. They're mainly for short stops, like pulling in for lunch or running up to your cabin quickly! Please use Niboban 2's private mooring for overnight boat parking. There is a generator in case of power loss. Gas grill available mid-May through mid-October. Games: Corn hole, croquet set, scrabble, chess, checkers, backgammon, dominos, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards. Single kayak available for guest use. Security cameras are located on the outside of the property and active at all times. No animals allowed - not a pet friendly rental. No smoking or vaping please anywhere in or around the cabin. The cabin was very comfortable and close to town. We really enjoyed the setting right by the lake.

Niboban Cabin 2

When I booked this property, I didn't realize that there were no TVs or internet access. We stayed at the cabin on Super Bowl weekend so it was a bummer. There are cameras outside so the owners have internet but it's not shared with renters. The rental agency went out of their way to accommodate us by bringing over a TV. They were very responsive and communication was stellar. There is great access to snowmobile trails as it's on Rangeley Lake. The cabin was clean; however, with no TV or internet available I will likely not rent it again.

Great place to enjoy some winter activities

Everything was great. Only issue was that the bed wasn’t a king—it was two small beds put together.

A much needed break!

The cabin was meticulous and cozy, with a fabulous screened in porch. Due to the wind, we cooked inside and found everything we needed to make good meals after a day of bike riding and canoeing. Compared to our southern Maine town, Rangeley was quiet even on a Holiday weekend and this wonderful cabin sans TV and Internet was just what we needed to get away from it all! The wind ceased on our last day, so we were able to use the fabulous fire pit and listen to the loons after sunset. We will be back!

Very nice and quiet spot

Great place, very simple and quiet. Beautiful sunset, easy to get a canoe in the water and enjoy nice ride. The cabin, very simple has every thing you need. No need more (except maybe the internet but no big deal there). The fire pit is great, the sunset beautiful the cabin very cozy. We do recommend highly the cabin and the area.
