New Modern Lodge! Central Black Hills, 4 bdrms/2 baths - 15 min. to Mt. Rushmore

Welcome to the Happy Trails Lodge! You will enjoy a newer 4 bedroom, 2 bath cabin with views of the hills, pine trees and pasture, centrally located at the Three Forks, intersection of Hwy 385 & Hwy 16. From here, you will have easy access to all the central hills attractions, including Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, Sheridan Lake, Pactola Reservoir, Hill City, Keystone and the Black Hills National Forest. With such easy access to everything, you will be able to relax more, drive less, and enjoy the beautiful views right from the deck. The home features modern interior finishes, custom woodwork, creative lighting accents, 3 queen beds and one King size. There is also a queen size sleeper sofa, and a twin sleeper sofa in the living room for your extra guests. Each bedroom is equipped with a TV, bedside lamps, an overhead fan, a large closet with hangers and shelves, extra air mattresses and bedding. The house is stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, hair dryer, toilet paper, paper towels, 12 cup coffee maker, dishes, dish soap, utensils, crock pot, iron, bed sheets, pillows, extra blankets, quilts and pillows for extra beds, also a propane gas grill and outdoor furniture. We hope your stay is comfortable and relaxing. This is your time, so enjoy your vacation in the Black Hills!

Happy Trails Lodge is amazing! It is conveniently located to all of the Black Hills & attractions. It is beautifully appointed with everything you could possibly need & very clean & maintained very well. We have stayed at this property 3 times as it perfectly meets our needs with 4 bedrooms & 2 baths. The hosts are very easy to work with & respond quickly to any questions. We plan to return for future stays!

Perfect stay for any group

We had the most perfect experience staying here! The house is spacious, extremely clean, and adorably decorated. We cooked dinner there all 5 nights, and they had everything we could have ever needed to make our meals (including the grill). Views from the property are gorgeous! The location is great; it takes minutes to get to attractions like Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, wineries/breweries, etc. I simply can’t recommend this home enough for a relaxing stay in the Black Hills! Thank you for such a wonderful experience

Black Hills Wedding Weekend

We booked this cabin for a wedding weekend at Diamond Spur, and it was an ideal choice. The location is incredibly convenient—just a short walk to the venue and directly across from the Diamond Spur Lodge. With four bedrooms, the cabin comfortably sleeps 8, though the two bathrooms are a bit tight, making it challenging for a larger group to get ready at once. The kitchen and dining area are spacious, offering seating for 12-14, and the open layout flows into the living area, which seats 4. The front and back decks provide plenty of additional seating and outdoor space. The kitchen and bathrooms were well-stocked with all the essentials. We did have a bit of trouble adjusting the thermostat, which led to a chilly first night and a warmer third night, thanks to the fluctuating Black Hills temperatures. Overall, the cabin is perfectly located for anyone attending an event at the venue or exploring the area. The neighborhood is also lovely and quiet.

Trail riding in Black Hills

The house was centrally located near all the area attractions wit a great view. We came to this area to ride UTVs in the Black Hills and trails were nearby. Very spacious parking area to accommodate our trucks ,trailers and ITVs The house was well stocked and easily accommodated 8 adults. Check in was simple and owner was easy to contact. We did experience some maintenance concerns. A/C quit working and smoke detector were beeping. They were quick fixes

Nice house in a great location. Four bedrooms in each corner of the house along with a large open kitchen and living room area. I'd love to rank higher, but we had two big issues while we were there. The first was the fridge blew a fuse due to there being too much stress on the circuit. This led to all of the ice melting out of the freezer and leaking onto the floor. We luckily didn't lose any of our food but it created a mess. The second issue was around the smoke alarms going off due to the batteries being low. At 4:30 in the morning I was up on a stool changing the batteries in the bad alarm so my young children could continue to sleep. Both of these issues took away from what is otherwise a great property. Some preventative maintenance needs to be scheduled to ensure things like this don't happen in the future.

Black Hills Father's Day Weekend

We took a family trip to the Black Hills to celebrate Father's Day, and our stay was absolutely fabulous! The house is beautifully laid out and had all the amenities we needed to cook dinner each night. The location and neighborhood were perfect—close to all the area’s main attractions, yet peaceful and welcoming. Yvonne is a wonderful host who made everything easy and enjoyable. If you're looking for a spacious, well-equipped home in a great location, look no further. We’ll definitely be booking this property again on our next visit!

We had a great stay & an excellent location for the events & sightseeing we had planned. The house was wonderful, nicely decorated & layout very accommodating. The house was well stocked with kitchen supplies, linens, towels etc. All the beds very comfortable. The surrounding area by the house was gorgeous. We loved watching the deer that visited in the mornings & evenings. Yvonne was great to work with & responded to our questions or concerns in a very timely manner. Very much appreciated. We highly recommend this house & hope to return in the future.
