"The family that run Holiday Inn in Midigama are fantastic! We stayed in the deluxe double room with the most comfortable bed. I even found out where they bought the sheets and bought some for my own bed! Outstanding service and quality. "The guest house looked very nice and on the second floor was the breakfast tables but we had our room on the ground floor and the room was very dark and the bathroom was old. There was not a lamp near the bed so you could not read in the evening. The host family was very friendly and we used e.g. the washing service."

On the positive side, the rooms are big, as are the bathrooms, the location is fine, ten minutes walk to the beach and a couple of minutes to the bus stop into Galle, pleasant surroundings with the occasional monkey sighting and plenty of stripy squirrels. Breakfast was OK and the family friendly. When we arrived only two of our three rooms had a towel. Safes were on the tables but not secured so...
