"Very friendly staff and excellent facilities. Great to have the pool available from early morning. Only downside was the restaurant’s bizarre ‘policy’ (apparently the chef’s decision) of trying to charge £3.50 for substituting couscous with mashed potato. According to the receptionist the following day, this has now been stopped, but unfortunately too late to avoid a sour taste at the time of the meal. But well done to the waitress for taking note of our concerns and passing them on to management "

"We weren't advised there was a pool, so we didn't get to use it. Staff were all lovely, especially receptionist who booked us in. But the second lift being out of order meant we had to wait for the lift when checking out. There was a chair in our room [118] that needed joints gluing and could have collapsed, and somewhere in the bathroom is leaking damp, resulting in a few harmless fruit flies and damagedbath panel and skirting. "The carpet in the room was filthy - does it ever get vacuumed, let alone cleaned? Only one pillow per person and one roll of toilet roll for 3 people for 2 nights! Restaurant and bars on site are very expensive and as the hotel is out, virtually on its own by a motorway junction, there aren’t really any other options. We only ate in the hotel once, the food was below average, overpriced and the service was ‘disinterestment’. The pool is run by a different company which means you need to book. At the time we booked we were not warned that it was being used for swimming lessons, which is fine, I would like everyone to learn to swim. But please let us know so we can book a quieter time for a more relaxing experience. Would I stay in the hotel again? Definitely not. This used to be a very high quality and well run hotel - what has happened to it? 🙁"
