The Neighborhood:
Red Lodge, nestled in the foothills of the Beartooth Mountains, is a wonderful place to visit if you are looking for family fun, a place to touch the wild, or just a chance to let your hair down. Whether you are wearing Birkenstocks or cowboy boots, you will find something to do here. (Although downtown is paved and we even have sidewalks, Jimmy Choos are probably not a great idea!)
In winter the road ends here. Downhill skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, sledding and sleigh riding are just the short list of activities that you can do when visiting us.
In summer we revel in the Beartooth Pass opening. We are only 68 miles from Yellowstone Park, but plan on a good two hours` drive as the “Pass” is stunning in high mountain vistas, rocky cliffs, and jeweled lakes. The Custer National Forest is a haven for wildlife including elk, moose, mountain goats, big horn sheep, bears (black and grizzly), mountain lions and wolves. Golden marmots are often seen dashing across the trails. Golden and bald eagles often visit our area, as well as sandhill cranes and blue herons.

Red Lodge, Montana is a rural community that does offer internet and cell service throughout most geographic areas but, some locations are completely void of any internet or cell service. In town and within a 3-5 mile radius of downtown you will enjoy solid cell signal but during times when our population increases due to events, celebration (such as the Fourth of July), or emergency situations such as a wildfire you will notice that these online and cellular services slow down and sometimes, they can slow down to the point where you have to wait to place a call. We can’t do anything to help in these situations, so we encourage people to enjoy the freedom of being “unplugged” and to be patient.

This property was great it was big enough to accommodate all of us and it had all the necessary things! It’s also the perfect distance from red lodge and far enough away from the neighbors that we don’t bother them if we get loud!! Such a good place!
We took a chance on the snow this early in the season and were glad to have a blizzard on the second day! The house was 14 min from the ski lift and parking was easy. We were very glad to have 4 wheel drive and a nice garage area to park and load gear. The house was great for two families. Extra seating in the living could have been the only addition. The hot tub was great, the kitchen was very well stocked and we played lots of games at the large table. Thanks!
This rental was wonderful for a family summer reunion. We brought our small dog with us, and the fenced backyard was great for both dog and kids. We had plenty of room to spread out, and we all fit around the large dining room table for meals, which was a big draw.
We had a great stay at Elk Ridge. The house was very roomy, well stocked with added bonus of games, puzzles, ping pong, fire pit and large grass area to keep everyone well entertained. It is also a good area for hiking and oth er outdoor adventures. Red Lodge offers several good restaurants as well. We also appreciated the prompt response from the property mangers regarding any questions or issues.
Perfect for two adult children with their families to meet up with Grandparents while traveling several hours. Spacious house, perfect for the dogs to run around in the backyard and the grandkids to kick around a soccer ball. Close to short or long hikes and a darling downtown to walk around. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking your own meals, and the kids loved the bunk room and the media room while the adults had ample space in the upstairs family room to do several of the puzzles on site and play games.
This property was perfect for our group of three adults couples, a handful of teenagers, one younger kid, and a dog. The layout of the house is great. All the bedrooms are quite large, and there is community space in the walkout basement and on the main level. The yard is huge and fully fenced, so our dog was able to roam. Lots of puzzles and books. Just a short (5-ish minutes) drive to downtown. Probably 10-15 minutes to the ski hill. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking a holiday meal. Overall a great experience. It is an older house, but clean and well maintained. Communication with the hosts was prompt and pleasant. Would definitely stay here again.
We stayed seven nights with 12 kids. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking appliances and utensils, plates, cups. There was adequate entertainment at the house for indoor play( puzzles, games). Several things could use repair: master toilet was wiggly, there was only one remote for 4 tv's.Entire house could just use a refresh/decor update but that didn't affect our stay. Hot tub maintenance/daily check would have been appreciated for a group our size as it saw lots of use. The bedrooms are spacious and though the bedding is dated there was enough for everyone to be warm. There were plenty of towels and access to the washing machine was very helpful.Overall we enjoyed our stay.
We enjoyed the house very much and it was perfect for the 13 of us, 5 being children. We could’ve used an extra cutting board. We would definitely stay here again! The property managers were the best!
The property is well equipped , it is a nice layout, plenty of space and met our objective of relaxation. We got to enjoy the great view while able to reconnect and visit. I would highly recommend this location.
Loved the big dinning room table - great for our meals and for playing board games! Great bedrooms, we all had plenty of personal space. Wonderful visiting around the kitchen island. We just had a fun and enjoyable time!
This property was perfect for us. The layout was idea for our family/friend gathering. My husband and I had our family come up to stay and then were also able to have a larger family/friend dinner. We got married up on the east rosebud trail-small ceremony and then just enjoyed time with family at the property. We made a big meal and all kinds of room for outdoor activities! Thanks for having such a wonderful place for us to rent.
