"I’m not gonna start this review saying I hate leaving bad reviews because honestly I rarely leave reviews unless something was downright terrible or just absolutely fantastic. This one will be the later.
When we arrived, the place was practically deserted that should have been our first warning. When we checked in we were notified that there was no Wi-Fi, which seems particularly odd in such a dead cell phone area and all the fast food restaurants on the strip had Wi-Fi.
Upon entering the house room we found; very poor lighting, no over head lighting at all, very poor air circulation with mold or dust on the vents in the bathroom, the bathroom fixtures themselves were loose, and it was hard to turn the handle without pulling it from the wall, there was also a crawlspace entry just above the shower stall that was not sealed, and easily opened.
The on-site laundry barely operational with two working washers, but only one working dryer, which after an hour and a hour and half and $3.50 had still not dried our clothes forcing us to hang dry everything in our room.
25 to 30% of the plugs in the room did not function or have power to them. Anything else?
On top of all that we were traveling with two pets , which we knew would have extra fees, but we didn’t realize they would be $75 per pet on top of the the room fee and service charges,
Do yourself a favor and stay at the Hampton Inn just down the street. They actually have wi-Fi free breakfast and only $98 pet fee for two"
"Really liked this place! Mexican Hat,, pop. 24? - not a mile from the famed rock formation. Middle of nowhere. Rustic. We were the first ones in for the night (I think) but 7-8 other vehicles showed up overnight. So quiet and peaceful! Our view from our 2nd floor exterior room: beautiful San Juan River a few hundred yards away and a beautiful rock backdrop. In the morning, we caught the sunrise on the Alhambra Rock slightly to the south. Beautiful!
Pool area was clean and nicely done. We did not use as it was getting cool and breezy when we got there.
Room was clean. They provided two little towels for people to wipe off their motorcycles—apparently, some were using the regular washcloths for that purpose.
We did notice that one of the planks on corridor on way to the room was in need of repair.
No breakfast, so we planned for that."
"This is a remarkable property: a small modernist cabin and adjacent large tent, perched on the edge of a sage-brush plain overlooking the Bears Ears that give this national monument its name. Every detail is designed for both beauty and practicality. It’s simultaneously primitive and luxurious. The listing photos do not quite capture how spectacular it is. Anyone who gets to spend a few nights here is fortunate indeed."
"Casita on the Hill is a perfect spot!! So bright, roomy and comfortable. Our hosts, Malia and Spencer, are friendly and kind, and available for any questions. If you're in the Bluff area and need a place to base while exploring the area, choose Casita on the Hill. You'll love it!"
"Staff were friendly and mostly welcoming. Restaurant was under renovation but overall was great. Amenities like gas station, grocery store and gift shop were great and convenient. The tour through Monument valley was amazing well worth your time! Only draw back was that I forgot my sweat jacket on the sofa when checking out and called 2 hours later and yet no one could find it. Was told 1 st call they would check and call me back but no call back came. Called everyday for 3 days straight and was given the run around about no keys to closet, no one there to check etc, which was really disappointing as Jacket was very sentimental although not terribly expensive."
