"The Bay Estate is an absolute gorgeous property. However, host was not good at communicating and CLEANING CREWS NEED TO DO BETTER JOB!We had 11 mo old and 16 mo old babies with us; on day one, crawling and walking on the floors turned their knees/feet brown; the floors need a good mopping. The grill/sink and outdoor area was filthy, sent pictures to host, no remedy.The conservatory waterfall was not operating; asked if it could be turned on, no response. Plants in conservatory in desperate need of water and dead leaves need to be cleaned up. There is a steady drip in pipe in conservatory. Told host, no remedy.We couldn't locate a carafe for drip Cuisinart coffee maker. Host said they would check but we didn't hear back. When we arrived on Monday, 7/20, the 3 trash bins by the gate were full, when departing on Friday 7/24, the 3 bins were still full. We reached out to host asking what we were supposed to do with garbage, they stated garbage pickup is Friday and they would be back in touch on what we needed to do if they weren't empty Friday when we checked out. We did not hear from them so we left bags by bins. There were no kayaks on property as stated in information; if you are not going to provide kayaks, take them off your information.We replaced batteries in 2 of the tv remotes.THE BAY ESTATE IS A BEAUTIFUL PROPERTY (kitchen appliances are high quality, enormous kitchen table is a huge plus for large groups). Issues we had can be easily remedied."

"The house is great. Very clean and the A/C works great! I was surprised that the dock ended abruptly and is blocked. We were there to fish and crab, but fishing was more about getting snagged because we couldn't cast from the end of the dock. Jelly fish were by the hundreds in the water. Not any issue of the property owner just disappointing for anyone wanting to swim. Closet swim beach that is useable by renters is about a 12 minute drive. Wake Beach is about 100 yards of sandy beach between 2 properties. The last night, there was a major storm. Water came in through the backdoor and flooded the dining room. We cleaned it up and reported it to the property manager. He stated it had happened only one time before. Great house, great views and very quiet. Slept really well!!"

"An absolutely heavenly space. The cottage was warm, cozy and a true home away from home. The wooden interior takes you back to days gone by. As soon as we opened the door I was overcome with emotions feeling as if I knew this place from my past. One night the power went out, but there were some oil lamps so we could play Scrabble and other games. We spent most of our time on the screened in porch soaking in two parts of nature. The bayside included the beach, gentle lapping waves, & seagulls. Then the woodland side provided us with frogs, cicadas, even two owls hooting at night. We kayaked and fished. I was extremely impressed with the all natural medicinal plants growing along side the property. The dog fennel and the wild yarrow. The cottage was private and surrounded by farm land and a few distant cottages. Very relaxing and we certainly didn't want to leave."

"The host was excellent at communication. It was our first time with the baby; everything was clean, and I could even do floor (tummy) time with the baby. Also, the private beach on the property was a gem as well! Kayaks were also used, and they were very sturdy and good too. This property was good for viewing sunrises and wildlife. For July 4, it was perfect because it was quiet. I want to stay there again."
