"Netter Empfang und Schlüsselübergabe,Schöne Ferienwohnung mit 2 Bädern. In die obere Etage kommt man nur über eine steile, schmale Holztreppe. "Kein Marriot Hotel Level. Als erstens würde ich den Cleaning Partner austauschen, Haare auf dem Boden, in der Dusche, Flecken im Bett. Wünsche wie ein ruhiges Zimmer wurde nicht wahrgenommen obwohl ich vor Wochen nachgefragt habe. Sehr lautes Zimmer zur Autobahnseite! Nachfragen werden generell nicht beantwortet- meine zweimalige Nachfrage ob man E-Bikes unterstellen kann wurden ebenso nicht beantwortet."

"I was unable to check in on my confirmed date, as this was on a Wednesday when the place is closed. I read the instructions in the booking that travellers must contact the property at least 24 hours before check in - which is 1 pm to 2.30 pm! I tried to contact a number I found on the website (not provided with booking) which reached an answer phone without an option to leave a message nor text. Pretty terrible situation after a long day of hiking in unfamiliar areas! Since I was unable to contact them, I luckily secured a place elsewhere in town (Gästehaus Mitte), which was absolutely accommodating. The Schloss Schöningen charged my card. I found an email address elsewhere and contacted them. The owners, the Principales, responded that they had sent a message one week prior via Expedia, which included the code to the key safe, so sorry can't help. I did not receive that message, and found it unusually early to provide the code. The screenshot they gave also gave the phone numer as emergency number, which they didn't respond to. Maybe the €95 they receive for no service makes them happier, but it leaves a unpleasant impression about them. I'm an experienced traveller, and expected instructions for self-check-in if needed, but could not access them. Expedia's, my, or their fault, I'm not sure, but their support and explanation was not what I would consider caring, but simply taking all the money they can."
