Good but consider rooms not at the front
Great little hotel just a stones throw away from the old town and central district. We had great clean rooms obviously recently decorated and very comfortable. good secure parking for our cars. Only problem was Tuesday night as there was a busy and noisy bar close to the rooms on the front street, Wednesday night was quiet so don’t know if this was a regular noise night.

While the actual apartment was nice, it was hard to get past the initial arrival, when I discovered a very lived-in apartment that had not been cleaned beforehand. I had to notify the staff, then leave for a few hours to allow them to clean it. That has never happened to me before at a hotel. The breakfast was ok, but the fruit was old and somewhat rotten and not all the options were fresh or desirable. While I don't expect everyone in non-English speaking countries to speak English, the front desk staff not speaking English made my interactions difficult at times. I would absolutely not stay here again.

Loved the separate apartment and the secure parking. The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was excellent. The apartment was large, really a suite, and one could have made and eaten all meals there.

Nice hotel with friendly helpful staff
We stayed 2 nights at the Garden Hotel. It was very well located in Rennes, which was important to us. An easy 10 min walk to the train and metro station, and the same in the opposite direction for the fine arts museum and outdoor mall. Our room for 3 felt a bit small, but that is on me, as the room size was given in the details. The staff was extremely helpful in providing emergency information to my husband when I became ill, and generally pleasant as we went in and out. Our room was very clean well kept. The bed was comfortable, the shower was very nice with hot water for both of us and plenty of pressure. My only real complaint was when we returned from a daytrip, the radiator had been turned off in our room with no way for us to turn it back on. The same with the bathroom hot air heater - no remote. We should have spoken with the desk, but it was late and I was ill. We did find a small portable room heater in the armoire that did the trick, so we were fine. We did not take breakfast there, so I cannot speak to that. All-in-all, our stay during the cold, wet early winter season was good, the location and staff excellent, and the room clean and relatively comfortable.

Not recommended
Room was far too small, kettle too small, bathroom ok although floor was dirty and no toilet roll or tissues. No window in room only one in the door. There was no privacy as people were having breakfast outside our door. We would certainly NOT recommend this place.

dear Madam, Sir, Our hotel is a 2 stars one, the room you had is 14m2, which is higher than the minimum (9m2) that you can have in this category. The kettle is something we offer and generally appreciated by our clients. We have a nice patio and it is not possible to privatise it for the three rooms on the ground floor. This hotel is better located than I first thought by just looking at the map. The facilities are bright and cheery, the staff helpful, the parking a real asset. These are not luxury facilities but they are equipped with everything needed. The breakfast is good and they even provided me with gluten free bread on the second day with advance notice. A great place to come back to!

Hotel is a 5 minute walk from rail station and generally well situated. Staff was helpful and responsive. Room was small but quite adequate. Breakfast was just ordinary considering the price.

Cozy hotel in a city with character
This was a convenient budget hotel great for a stopover to visit the city. The room was a bit battered but everything functional. Helpful friendly staff. The dining area is compact creating a friendly cozy family feel. Nice breakfast. I would definitely go back if visiting Rennes again.

This is a 2 star hotel which is better than some 4 star hotels we have stayed in. Great location. Lovely rooms and helpful staff. Will definitely stay there again when we return to Rennes. Highly recommended.

Easy to walk to site seeing, and restaurant. Cleaning lady needs to clean the floor. It was sticky with something first to arrived. They need to give better directions how to get to the place.

Dated but clean
Comfortable room, dated and quite small but clean and useable. Fantastic location between the train station and middle of town, which was only a 5 min walk. Only problem was that you could hear voices and movements of other guests, wasn't constant or too loud but noticeable. Would stay here again despite this.

Stay at Garden Hotel
The hotel is located an easy 10 min walk from the main train station. We were allocated a family room at the Garden Apartment block just a minute walk from the main hotel. It was nice cosy place equipped with a stove, utensils and coffee maker. Staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms came with good Wifi connection. We had a great 3 night stay there.

Lovely little hotel close to centre of town
I had a wonderful 4 nights at this place. The staff were all excellent and went out of there way to help us. The location was fantastic, short walk from the train Station so great for day trips out of Rennes and close to the centre/old part of town which was beautiful to explore.

The breakfast is surely a plus and worth paying. Hotel location is fantastic and service outstanding. However, the hotel ad should mention very clearly that NON of the rooms have AC. This is important if you are given a room facing the main street. The initial room given to use was not clean and uncomfortable, but we were quickly given a much better room which was clean. Not sure if this new room was priced at the same rate since we did not pay extra, but it was bigger and way better. So it should be said that the NEW ROOM GETS very high marks for comfort and cleanliness, but NOT the INITIAL ROOM given to us.

Pleasant, central small hotel with kind staff
We had a lovely stay at the Garden Hotel and the staff were very helpful in getting my very heavy wheelchair up and down the steps into the hotel. The cleanliness could perhaps have been improved and we needed to ask for toilet paper a couple of times! The breakfast was good,especially if you go when it starts, although the staff did do a reasonable job of refilling things where possible.It wasn't their fault that some people seemed to regard the breakfast buffet as their own personal feast. The hotel is very centrally located, so everywhere is easy to get to including the main square where the buses from the airport stop and the railway/bus station. We would certainly stay again. Only one quibble, I left a brand new dress there (my own fault) and an email asking them to post it to me if I sent the money wass not even acknowledged, so check you haven't forgotten anything!

Cute hotel and good location and good value.
Just at the edge of the Rue Jean Janvier (near city/canal side, very close to Beaux Art Musuem) which is full of hotels and close-but-not-too-close to the railway station. Really like the center garden patio that makes this hotel special. Room was very good with kettle and lift. Easy to store my bike and has 24-hour reception so feel it's quite safe. The toilet was clean but has a slight pungent smell though I say it's minor.

Very pleasant hotel
Hotel was pretty close to the train station (less than 1km) and close to the downtown area of Rennes. Nice staff, room was small, but pleasant and had nice views of the garden. Some nice touches, like a tea kettle and blow dryer made the stay especially pleasant. Very close to some small stores for baguettes, meat, cheese and pastries, so very easy to have a quick meal in between travels.
