Amazingly beautiful house!
So grand from the moment you park your car. Then the inside was HUGE and goegeous! The kitchen is the biggest ive ever been in. The beds are super comfortable, everybody said. Hot tub and sauna did not disappoint and we loved burning a cozy fire in the house every night while we worked a puzzle! Weather didnt really cooperate, but hey, we're all Oregonians so we didnt mind. Thank you for the refreshing, relaxing and enjoyable weekend in luxury!!

I've stayed at this property around five times now over many years. It's been a favorite for my kids and I for nearly ten years now. It is a beautiful home that is in a remote location and is really everything you could want in a very nice forest retreat location for your family. It has been around four years since our last visit (my daughter's 18th birthday during the COVID-19 pandemic) and as always the house was beautiful and clean for our arrival. We stay in high end hotels many places, but for this type of experience I can't think of a better house.

This property is beautiful and spacious! There were 6 of us staying for a long weekend and we had so much space. The yard is amazing, with a cute little walking trail, lots of seating, and even a hourseshoe pit.

Lovely mount hood cabin. Large enough for our whole family to be very comfortable. WiFi is great for watching football! Love the secluded feel and great atmosphere to relax.

Quintessential PNW vibes
I first saw this place featured on a Netflix show. Was thrilled it was available when we wanted to visit. Tons of space so no one felt crowded. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking amenities. Did not see the ping pong table in the garage until the last day when we were looking for the garbage cans. The hot tub did not disappoint. We did two puzzles and some pieces were missing but that is a common thing with sharing puzzles. The trees were majestic. The sun came through the windows like they were beckoned to do so. Was really nice to have laundry capabilities. Some cleaning supplies were running low but we managed. Would highly recommend!!

This listening didn’t do this house justice. It was more beautiful than we expected. It was large and had all the amenities that we needed for a perfect short getaway. Will definitely be remembering this house and booking again in the future.

Great family retreat!
My family and I had a great week at the lodge! The kitchen was huge and made it easy to cook large meals for everybody. Everybody enjoyed the hot tub after our hikes. There seemed to be some issues with locking the exterior doors but we weren't too concerned about it based on the location. All in all a great stay and I would for sure go back!

Does not Disappoint!
TL;DR: theres good reason everyone says they plan to book again! We had 4 families w kids under 5, and we had more than enough room, which is saying something! Of course the place wasnt kid-proofed but thats a given in most places. They kindly went the extra mile to get us a pack'n'play for a family flying in. Directions were spot-on once given to us which is helpful because it is not easily map-able. However, my one critique is that they wouldn't give us any address or location- even when asked and explained why we needed it- until I arrived at the office to get keys. That came without explanation from them, which I'm sure was a good one, but it didnt help the families coming separately from PDX at all, so that was weird. Once at the office, my reception was kind and warm--- great folks (and cute dogs)! Although their trash and hot tub policies are onerous, they made us reassured that the tub was in top condition and we were happy to do our part in its upkeep. My friends all starting planning our 'next trip' there before we'd even left. Thanks for having us!

Excellent stay at Forrest Lodge
Forrest Lodge is the place to stay at Mt Hood, Oregon! It's perfect for relaxing and very clean. I love how secluded and private but is yet still close to all the restaurants and Mt. Hood activities. The house is absolutely amazing and we loved the hot tub, decor and luxurious kitchen!!! The place stands out above the rest. So many features we enjoyed, sauna, the trails, double shower, horse shoe pit, star gazing, and all the incredible architectural features the house has. This place is definitely a "Don't Miss!! "

This house is beautiful and amazing!! If I had to give any suggestions, it might be that I wish the large gate at the entrance was open so it was easier to unload everything into the house! Other than that, we would definitely recommend this beautiful property! ❤️

This property was perfect for our multi family vacation. The house was laid out perfectly so that each family had their own area including bathroom, and the main living areas were large enough for the whole group (dining table seats 10, kitchen island seats 3) Tons of seating outside. We enjoyed the new hot tub and the ping pong table. The AC didn't keep up well so the loft and upstairs bedroom were a little warm, however there were plenty of fans. This was a wonderful clean rental with a well appointed kitchen perfect for cooking for a large group. Bring your own knives if you want to cut anything harder than butter! Would certainly recommend!

Perfect for a family gathering
We stayed here as a whole family to celebrate a special event and it was perfect. The house is HUGE and so well appointed and gorgeous in many ways. We were a family with a toddler and we were so comfortable. The grounds are lovely to explore and our toddler loved the space to move around and see the wood carvings outside. The kitchen was one of the best features, perfect for preparing meals for 9 people. I would highly recommend it to anyone who needs some peace and quiet but enough space to gather.

Forrest Lodge is a beautiful residence in a beautiful spot - the perfect place for a quintessentially Pacific Northwest experience. The house was very clean and comfortable. There were a few maintenance issues - a running toilet, a broken screen door, broken trash compactor, broken master bedroom fireplace and broken hot tub. We were not advised about the broken hot tub until the day before the stay, which was a disappointment to us. Overall, it is a special house in a great location to enjoy all Mt Hood has to offer. I would gladly rent the cabin again, but if the hot tub is important to you, I'd suggest clarifying its functionality before you commit, as the managers will not give any rental discount for all the amenities that were advertised but were not working during our stay.

Breathtaking and relaxing
This cabin is absolutely stunning! We had the best weekend enjoying all it had to offer and in the magical setting it was in. When can you take a trail hike around your very own property? The stars at night were so incredible and the kitchen made us want to cook every single meal because it was so beautiful and filled with every amenity. Highly recommend!

Overall the house is wonderful. Rustic but refined. There is plenty of room to spread out and enjoy. The kitchen is the centerpiece and is well-equipped. The outdoor area is large and peaceful. Suggestions: Towels. A house of this level should have way better quality towels, and more of them. Also, things should work: The master gas fireplace is out-of-order and it looks like this has been the case for some time. Too bad as it would be a nice touch in that room (it is also featured in the VRBO overview). Trash compactor does not compact...

Summer or Winter it is a great place to vacation!
We have stayed here before, back in June 2014, so we were familiar with the property during the summer time. Which is why we wanted to go back there for Christmas 2021. Beautiful to be back there in the snow. Great place to hide from all forms of Covid!! 4 days with no masks!

We loved this house! What was really great is when we arrived, a tree was down making all the power out and they had a generator running the home, we had friends staying near by who were not so fortunate. So convenient! Did not have any issues really, will definetly be back!

Truly perfect
This was such an incredible house/property!! Truly gorgeous, the house is even more grand and warm than pictured, and the surrounding forest is breathtaking! Each room is charming and spacious. Walk in tubs and showers were comfortable and an awesome experience! This house shares a driveway with the home next door, but there’s plenty of space and with the woods between you it’s barely noticeable. I cannot say enough about how perfect our time here was, we DEFINITELY plan on booking another family vacation here!!

Beautiful Cabin - Must see to appreciate
This was a beautiful cabin in a beautiful property. Love all the unique features throughout this cabin. When we first got there it was like an Easter egg hunt finding all the little unique quirks in the cabin. Had an amazing time with our out of state friends showing them what the PNW is like. We had an incredible time. The only few negatives that caused me to knock a star off the rating. The upstairs bathroom leaked into the bedroom downstairs, the microwave did not work, the master bedroom fireplace did not work, the kitchen sink had no hot water, we were not able to pull into the driveway because the gates were locked and I understand why. But they also did not allow us to park in the garage. Again, we had an amazing time, but we hope that the owners use some of the money from our stay to make a few repairs and updates.

Great property
This place is the former vacation home of a wealthy San Antonio businessman. You can see it was designed with great care and thought. There is everything a family or group could need and the kitchen is large enough to cook meals for a dozen people. The only thing that keeps this property from being 5 star is that there is a lot of deferred maintenance that needs to be done. The hot tub is on its last legs and there is a fridge leak that has damaged the wood flooring in the kitchen. Master fireplace does not function. But in the grand scheme of things the property is still capable of entertaining and hosting a large group quite well.

Magical vacation rental
The lodge is fantastic, one of a kind. It almost feels like having one of the storied National park lodges all for yourself! Photos don’t do justice, experience of stepping in and seeing the living room, kitchen and bedrooms is just filled with open mouthed wow sounds! The kitchen is fabulous, fully stocked with everything you’d need. Bedrooms were very practical - master bedroom was a world of its own and separated from the other parts of the house (the kitchen, dining and master bedroom seem to be newer additions). Decor was very thoughtful and consistent throughout. That said, the vacation rental company managing this was ok. The people there were nice, don’t get me wrong. But the upkeep of various amenities could use more work, more instructions on how to use them etc. the enormous indoor jacuzzi in master bath didn’t work, it wasn’t clean either as we filled it. The outdoor hot tub was nice, but again half the jets didn’t work. There were a few out of order bulbs, broken chair. The toiletries were pedestrian for a property like this. Small touches like this make the world of a difference between what’s an immaculate rental and one that leaves you longing. Overall, we’d definitely visit again, wish the property management was done by someone who’s more detail oriented and who cares about this magical cabin.

The kitchen is incredible, the outdoor space is absolutely serene and there are so many opportunities to relax! The sauna, hot tub, and soaking pools all made for an excellent relaxing trip. I want to come back ASAP!

Stunning build and architecture nestled in a scenic green blanket. Every nook and cranny of this home had something beautiful to marvel at. We were in awe of the unique beveled windows, the expansiveness of the kitchen, and all the gorgeous spa-like spaces to partake. Will come back for sure!

Forrest Lodge was wonderful except for when we lost power and water for 8hrs and nobody came out to check the generator because it was t working so we pretty much missed out on a day. Other than that the lodge was amazing.

Highly recommend
What a beautiful lodge! I spent 4 days at the lodge with family. There is enough space for kids to play and adults to hang out. Piano, chess, games, hot tub and trails near the house. The area surrounding the house is magical. The kitchen is very well equipped so for me is a big bonus as I love to cook;) Communication with the property manager was easy. We had an amazing time at this beautiful property and will definitely be back.

Gorgeous Setting
We had a small group stay here over the weekend in October. The house was gorgeous, clean and spacious. The manager communicated with us and was kind. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return in the future. Location is close to a few restaurants and the grocery store. Only down fall, the sofa beds aren't comfortable and the house could use some extra blankets. Loved it all together and will return.

City Escape!
We thoroughly enjoyed this property! The kitchen was huge and fabulous, we were surprised that such a grand kitchen only had one oven but since it was just the 2 of us it worked out fine! We really enjoyed spending the rainy days/evenings in front of the great big fireplace. Since there were only the 2 of us we only used the master bedroom (fireplace was out of order). The bed in the master was VERY comfortable. When the sun came out we enjoyed sitting on the patio while the sun hits it midday. It was nice to walk down the little trail and we could definitely imagine the house being perfect for a large family get away. It was SUPER conveniently located, with the grocery store just down the hill as well as the liquor store and some restaurants The pandemic inhibited us from experiencing much outside of the house but it was a wonderful and cozy place to be stuck! We would gladly return! Oh and Carol was wonderful to deal with! If there was anything I would change it would just be allowing the driveway to be opened up, hauling in bags and groceries down the long walkway was kind of a pain and my boyfriend was really worried about wildlife popping out in the dark 😅. (Apparently it is blocked off for the health of the tree roots, which I get so no harm done! Just pack lightly!)

Not as pictured or described - no answer from management company!!
First off, I tried contacting the management company about my concerns so I didn’t have to write a bad review but I got no response. This was to Jing - and not the first time I didn’t receive a response from him. There is no fire pit as shown in the photos (this was one of the reasons we chose this property vs many others we could have picked) the fireplace in the master bedroom does not work! Another reason why we chose to rent here. The house only came with one paper towel roll? Not even close to enough with a house that big. Had to buy more. And the photo shows a couch or day bed in the second loft - this is not there. Also, the trundle does not turn in to a king bed. Overall we enjoyed this house but I do not think it is worth the price and these concerns were too big to over look.

What a magical getaway!
Usually, life (and listings) disappoint. This place did not. We had plenty of room for three families and found every cooking implement we could possibly need. Between the hot tub and crazy (in a good way) bathrooms, Forrest Lodge felt a little like a spa. The grounds were beautiful, and the Christmas decorations were enchanting. I texted our in-transit friends the heart-eye emoji the minute I walked through the door.

Wonderful place for a family
We got together for Father's Day and really enjoyed the Forrest Lodge. A little more rustic than the pictures, but every bit as worthwhile. It would have helped to have the book of information laid out for us on the kitchen counter. Found it the last day with info on locks, fireplaces, etc. Also, it had some great trail suggestions that would have helped. We really loved the place!!

This was by far one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed. Great layout and spacious without feeling cavernous. Kitchen was amazing and made it so you didn't want to eat out. I definitely will be returning during different seasons to enjoy it year round!
