Beautiful Cabin near Mt. Hood
We had a minor hitch in our check-in process, and had to delay while the cleaning crew finished. Not a big deal once we were able to get access. The place was immaculate and the photos of the outdoors don't do the environment justice. It is majestic giant trees down a winding road. It feels like you are out in the middle of nowhere, but you are close to Packwood grocery stores and cute restaurants. Highly recommend the Zig Zag Inn for a cozy feel and prices that haven't changed in two decades. Wish we had even more time here, but it was a perfect launching off point to visit Timberline Lodge and spend 3 amazing sunny fresh powder ski days at Mt. Hood Meadows.

Amazing "Lodge" experience.
Loved our stay at this house. If you want a "Lodge" experience up on the mountain, then this is your place. We didn't end up going up to the mountain due to icy conditions and were totally content just hanging out at this house.

Amazing Cabin
This is a great cabin with plenty of sleeping spaces if you have a lot of kids. Only downside was the upstairs full sized bed was fairly uncomfortable. Downstairs bed was great though. The kitchen was better than most cabins we’ve stayed in and the overall cabin design was really cool. Outside had a hot tub, fire pit, horseshoe pit and a giant swing which was really fun. It would have been nice to have an early checkin or late checkout option but this is definitely one to visit if you get the opportunity.

Could have been amazing but multiple things weren't working.
The house is amazing, the area is perfect, it is in a beautiful setting, equipped with pretty much everything you need, the question is, will the things inside the house be working? Now the things that weren't so great: We arrived and it was 57 degrees inside, raining outside, it was cold. We turned on the heat and went out for dinner. We returned a few hours later and it was still 57. After trying to troubleshoot, we realized the heat wasn't working. We called the local person who didn't answer, so we called VRBO. They opened a claim and was supposed to call back. They didn't so we called again, they forgot to escalate it to maintenance. Now we were told they will send someone out very shortly. Well finally we got in contact with the local lady, who first said she would try to send someone out that night, but minutes later texted that they were waiting on a part, admitting they knew the furnace wasn't working. That's when we started feeling really disappointed, that they didn't tell us about this before we arrived, as we had a child with us too, and we really were freezing. She said to use the fireplace, which we did and after long hours we got it up to like 60 degrees, but honestly we couldn't relax and we weren't planning on tending to the fire while on vacation (Luckily the bedrooms had individual heaters so while sleeping, we were nice and warm). We got $250 refund. Also high cleaning fee but had to clean before leaving. Couldn't plug bathtub drain either.

Amazing property, disappointing hosting
What a great place! Full of hidden areas for kids, a huge tree swing, and places that made a cousins trip a bit magical. Highly recommend. Hosting-wise, a bit disappointing. The communication with vacasa was great (much better than previous experiences), but the general hosting is a little sloppy. Nothing major, but little inconveniences showed up all the time. We arrived and there were no paper towels or napkins, so we had to get that. The hot tub smelled moldy, so we had to try to treat it, but the materials were not in the labeled boxes. The check out instructions have you going around the house to strip beds, set thermostats, hunt for light switches, etc. Basically, lots of things like that. We’d love to stay here again, can’t say enough good things about the place. If you are looking to stay, plan on making a sweep of the place before settling in.

Overall decent place to stay
This place was very fun! We stayed with family and friends. The location was great, it was 30 minutes from Mt. Hood, and it was quiet and secluded. The negative part was there were no screens on the windows. We knew there was no AC, and we were hoping to open the windows at night when it was cooler, but unfortunately that was not an option because we did not want bugs in the house. It was then very hot during the night and hard to sleep. There was also a porn magazine found in the magazine bin. We understand that this was probably left by a previous guest. Thankfully we did not have any children come with us. Overall it was a very fun place to stay!

Overall, a cool place to stay
Decent property -- it was a cool place to stay for a few days with friends and family. Good amenities and ample space to accommodate 8 people. Plenty of outdoor space to roam around. A lot darker on the inside than the pictures would lead one to believe, despite the many skylights throughout the place. Also, relatively close to other properties. Overall, would recommend.

The couples from Wisconsin could not make it because of the travel disaster that occurred across the country over the holiday weekend. My son was able to stay there because he lives in Portland. I am VERY disappointed there wasn't ANY consideration to refunding some of our money or offering any kind of credit for future use. Both VRBO and VACASA stuck strictly to their policies. We are unlikely to use VACASA again. Plus talking to someone in Egypt and Belize about the situation does not help.

Quiet secluded near Mt Hood
This cabin is quiet and secluded yet close to all the hikes of Mt. Hood. Our family ( 3 teens and 2 olds) enjoyed hanging out together inside and outside the cabin but also appreciated the space it gave us when needed. Try the Zig Zag Inn for beer and pizza!

The house is GORGEOUS and AMAZING but.....
The house is amazing and beautiful. Great location, very comfortable and kids LOVE IT!!! A couple down falls.... 1) hot tub was gross and wouldn't stay running (kept tripping the breaker) and when you were on the lounge part of the hot tub, cold water would drip on you from the ceiling above. Next, there was literally only 3 coffee cups. Next, not enough toilet paper was left in the house to make it the whole trip and for the price you pay to rent this, there should be. Next, not enough towels (especially since the washer and drier were broken). Next, the washer and drier weren't working (not acceptable, especially when they don't tell you this before you arrive. Next, the 2 beds upstairs are extremely uncomfortable and one even felt like it may fall apart. Lastly, they leave you with a small amount of fire wood but don't tell you that if you want to use the amazing fire place, you will need to bring wood or buy it for a small fortune locally. I'd stay here again and just come more prepared. However, I feel like the owner of the home probably isn't aware that the vacation rental company in charge of this house isn't doing a very good job and poor communication as well.

Gorgeous home on private road
Truly an incredible house!! The home is cozy but perfectly sleeps everyone. The outdoor area with swing is super cute and the hot tub was incredible! It does share a driveway with the house next door. Our family rented both properties so it wasn’t an issue for us but if you plan on a fully secluded retreat you will share a driveway, nbd honestly for such a gorgeous house!

This was a delightful escape from the hectic pace of every day life. The cabin is stunning - attention to detail everywhere you look. It is so cozy - a perfect place to make great food (kitchen has it all), light a fire, and play games or relax. This is an absolute gem. It was spotless when we arrived. The hot tub was perfect - it’s covered, so a perfect place to enjoy a rainy day. I would highly recommend reserving this. Also - we had a Tony issue with the dishwasher (no big deal at all) and they were SO responsive. They offered to send someone out immediately to fix it which was not at all necessary. Point is - great service. We will be back!

Just perfect!!
The reality of this stay was even better than we expected. This was a dream come true to stay in a fancy cabin like this! My 5 year old daughter loved the swing and sleeping in the bunk bed. The secret loft in the very top was super magical too! We were disappointed that we couldn’t light a campfire but as a native PNWer I totally understand the responsibility we have to take care of our forests. Hopefully we can stay again in the winter when it’s wet enough to have a fire! The dishwasher was confusing since it obviously needed some repairs, but that was the only thing that was even borderline annoying. It is a magical place. We can’t wait to come back!

Gorgeous cabin in a great location close to Hood and Trillium sand plenty of other places. It's just a fun but leaving, too. Fire pit is a great night activity and plenty of woods around to walk in. The only down side was the very spotty WiFi. It was nice to get away from phones, but the comfort of knowing we could check in on the world was dampened a bit. If you need to work from here, I would look somewhere else, otherwise it's a great stay.

Not well maintained but beautiful house
The house is obviously gorgeous but the cleanliness was not up to par, especially considering the hefty cleaning fee we are being charged. The dishes were disgustingly dirty, so I had to wash a load immediately (on my vacation.) The bed sheets upstairs were not clean. So I had to wash those too. Ironing board was broken, light bulbs burnt out on chandelier, fault portable bedroom fan (it was HOT nights), broken XBox (turns on doesnt play games), towel holder broke off from just touching the towel, the plumbing in the large bathtub was malfunctioning (low pressure and both spout and shower spout run at the same time), downstairs shower had poor water pressure and we had to wait an hour between showers to get hot water for our family of 5. They ask you to do your own laundry and own dishes yet still charged us for a cleaning fee. We did what they asked but I think this policy is unfair to guests because essentially the past guests are cleaning for the new guests...and in our experience, they didnt clean well. Whoever manages the property didnt check the cleanliness of the house or made sure things worked properly. This was a special occasion vacation for us and I was really disappointed that I had to clean up after strangers, pay a cleaning fee of a few hundred dollars and act as a cleaning lady when we were leaving. Besides that, it's a cool house for kids. Hidden areas to explore for them, swing outside. I would be back if Vacasa and the property owners and management took better care of the place and didnt charge so much for us to do their job for them.

Anniversary get away
We enjoyed the house and wished we could have stayed longer. The hot tub was nice and relaxing after our trip to Mt Hood. The kitchen was nicely stocked and the fireplace kept the house nice and warm (bring firewood). We would have liked a TV downstairs but we made it work we have a portable projector we used. We want to come back to enjoy the outdoor firepit and horseshoes.

Cozy Cabin Getaway
This property is hidden well in the forest. It was very quiet. House is lovely, clean and very cozy. I would highly recommend this house. The only criticism is that it lacks a little in cooking utensils and it could really use some sort of music system downstairs. Fortunately we brought a small blutooth speaker. Overall, we loved it and would definitely go back!

At first entry you can smell the beautiful cedar wood that makes the entire home. The area is full of big trees so that you can’t tell there are neighbors and the home itself has so much to offer you never want leave!

A cabin in the woods
A lovely eclectic cabin with nice appointments as far as furniture and kitchen items. A few suggestions: more soap, toilet paper, laundry soap and most of all enough wood for the large magnificent fireplace. Either that or please mention in advance these items are in small amounts and to bring your own firewood. It seems these items could be provided like they are in all other VRBO cabins we have stayed in. Overall, I would rent this cabin again.
