I find it difficult to believe that this hotel rates 7/10 on customer reviews. After having seen the place, other customers' ratings are suspicious: the descriptions "Exceptional" and "Very good" are used repeatedly.
We arrived around 3:30 pm and the office was empty. After ringing the bell several times and getting no response, I found an employee on the second floor, apparently cleaning rooms. She was very polite and came down and checked us in. We already had a bad vibe about the place, though, just from the outside. We walked in the room and it just looked dingy. We had asked for two doubles, but the room had one king. We looked at the chair and footstool--both were old and dirty, and my wife wouldn't even enter the room. We returned the key to the office, paid for the night anyway, and stayed in the Fairfield Marriott nearby--much nicer!
