The apartment was clean and matched the photos. It's upstairs, and there are several steps to get to the entrance (in case there are mobility issues). The sofa bed in the second bedroom takes up quite a bit of space, so may be more suited for children than a second couple. The apartment is comfortable for solo travelers or couples. There is a frequent (No 5 bus) that runs a block from the apartment to get to the fine arts and history museums, as well as Carytown with its restaurants, and a natural foods store called Ellwood Thompson's, all within a short time. There is also a Whole Foods a mile away in a different direction. There are many restaurants of different cuisines on Main Street and Carytown. I enjoyed the cheese plate with wine at Jardin and Petit Four, a short walk away. The fine arts museum (VMFA) has a particularly good collection and is well worth visiting. In a different direction are two other museums, a house museum called Valentine and the "White House of the Confederacy."

Check in was quick and easy. Our host communicated everything we needed to make the stay seamless. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed to be comfortable. Location was perfect. Walkable to Careytown with fun shopping and plenty of places to eat. We so enjoyed the stay!

Super clean second floor apartment with great light in the front bedroom — and a little desk that made it easy to get some work done. The building is at the edge of Richmond’s Fan district with easy access to all it offers. Block overlooks 195 and may look a bit rundown compared to surrounding streets, but the apartment itself is not only lovely but also very quiet (we heard virtually no traffic noise on a busy autumn weekend). Unusually well-stocked coffee bar was much appreciated, as was host’s friendly communication. Street parking right out front was easy all weekend. Washer/dryer right in the unit is always a bonus, although we didn’t need it on this trip. One possible issue for some travelers: apartment access does require ascending a flight of stairs, as pointed out in the description.
