Ridgeview Mountain Cabin
*RIDGEVIEW CABIN* Relaxing, Escape, Wildlife and Incredible Views! One bedroom with King bed + a loft with a stunning view and a queen bed. Deck access from living room and master bedroom. Wood burning stove and so much more! STUNNING views of the Shenandoah Valley from a large deck, with hot tub AND wood fireplace. All of the amenities. Privacy. PLUS hiking in the Shenandoah National Park is available from the cabin. A waterfall with natural pools is less than a 20 minute hike from the house! Wildlife is commonly seen. And at an elevation of 1,800 feet, even summer is comfortable. Skyline Drive and Luray caverns are close by, and Washington DC is only 90 miles away. Also nearby is the Shendandoah River - one of the most beautiful features of the area. Lots of opportunity for fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and floating the river. Luray is less than 10 miles away and Front Royal is also nearby. So even though you'll feel like you're in the wilderness, you're still close to restaurants, quaint shopping and wineries. This is a must see experience! You'll have access to the entire cabin Other things to note: ROAD AND VEHICLE: While the cabin is accessible for a normal car, we HIGHLY recommend a higher clearance vehicle like an SUV. Subaru's and RAV4's are common, but many other vehicles are also on the mountain. We offer an SUV (free of charge) to guests who prefer to use it for the final mile to the cabin.

Very nice remote location and clean inside and out with some nice trails nearby. The only small complaint is wishing the road was paved in the last mile. That would seal the deal for having an amazing experience versus a great one. Thank you!
Had a very good and overall relaxing experience at the Ridgeview Mountain cabin.
While solid, the cabin could use some investment. The internet situation was fantastic, however the TV was mounted in a spot which made it difficult to see and it was in poor condition due to burn in.
Beyond that, this trip was a little pricier than we expected as far as amenities that were delivered. Still, it was as advertised, and we had a great time overall.
This was our first time as a couple taking a trip alone and it was for our one year wedding anniversary. The cabin was amazing. Not only was the view beautiful, but the cabin itself was clean, and inviting. We had a wonderful time cooking dinner and eating on the deck.
Information was clear and accessible and we felt confident during the whole stay that we had what we needed and knew how to get around the area. My only complaint is the king sized mattress didnt agree with my back but that was a personal issue. It was comfortable enough but anyone who is used to a pretty firm matress like me might want to bring some support for themsleves.
We are already talking about going back maybe with other people. With other cabins to rent near by it seems ideal for a family trip where we can still have our own private accommodations!
10/10 would recommend and really want to come back for a much longer stay!
We were looking for quiet, comfortable not crowded space for family and dogs, something with nice view, outdoor space yet not too far from some attractions that you can do with kids. This place was perfect for that, just minutes from Luray Coverns, museums and dining but quiet and privat for evenings with family. We brought 2 dogs, owner was very understandable about that. Property is not too big but you have huge outdoor deck with hot tub this is where we spend most of the time. The night star watching is to die for, we enjoy peace and serenity- this is what we were looking for. There is no sheets (they are available to get) owner was open about that, we brought our own sheets and blankets that was not a problem at all. Kitchen is well equipped, you have all you need. All appliances worked fine including AC. My only wish if I could have any would be to have comfy Adirondacks chairs outside to sit and watch the view, there are chairs and bench outside but they are not very comfy. We enjoyed it and we could go back any time.
We had a great stay at this cabin! Host was responsive and gave many ideas of what to do. The cabin was cozy and it was a perfect stay! A must see is the caverns about 20-30 min away. We drove a Subaru Outback suv and had no problem with the road going up to the cabin, if it snows it can be slippery and icy going down, drive very slow. Overall 5 star stay! Thanks
This was the perfect little cabin for me and my husband. The location was perfect for us. We went to the Laray Caverns and hiked Old Rag. The owner was very helpful and has great communication! Planning another trip soon!
A great way to unwind with nature. We enjoyed coming back from a days hike cooking a homemade meal and soaking the hot tub! Definitely recommend for those wanting a secluded retreat!
Love the cabin, had a wonderful time at the cabin while we celebrated our anniversary there.
Everything there was beautiful, clean and comfy. Will definitely come back.
The cabin was spotless and cozy, the views breathtaking and the waterfall hike enjoyable. We celebrated the new year and 10 years of marriage during our 3-day stay. It was the perfect spot! Brian was a terrific host, providing super timely responses and great information/suggestions for activities in the area.
The. Abin was clean and well kept. We had a great stay. The pictures make it look a little larger than it actually is. But that is the only thing I can say that is even close to a criticism.
The owner was very quick to respond to all our questions. The view was beautiful, check in was easy. The hot tub was nice, the king bed was amazing! The only negative comment i would make is the taking your own trash. We weren't expecting that and when we left on a Sunday no dumps around were even open.
We loved the views from the cabin - just as advertised. Was quite remote, but we had no trouble with the road in a Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross.
We were a little surprised that linens were not included. We've stayed in several VRBOs and this has never come up before. We paid extra for linen service, but then we had to make the beds when we arrived; in addition, we were given two sets of king sheets when there was one king and one queen bed. We made do but it was a little disappointing.
I thought I would be ok with the road but realized on day 2 that I really didn't like all the jostling around. Only left once a day & wouldn't have done that if I didn't need to. Cabin was clean but ants invaded day 2, both large & small. Hot tub was great. Bed was comfortable. Squirrel yelled at me multiple times. Guess I disturbed it. Lol It was a nice weekend away but don't think we will rent this cabin again.
This cute little cabin was the perfect place for my husband and I to spend our anniversary weekend. Brian the owner was very responsive to any messages we sent. The house was clean, the hot tub was awesome to use after the days we spent hiking in Shenandoah National Park along with the fireplace that kept us nice and warm! The mountain road to get up to the cabin is definitely rough, we have a Honda cr-v and we made it fine. If you don’t want to beat your vehicle up, rent the Jeep!
This is definitely not a make or break issue, but the low hanging corner of the roof at the end of the deck nearest the steps is pretty nasty if someone’s head hits it. My husband is 6’4” and I’m 5’ 6”, while I wasn’t tall enough to hit it, someone slightly taller could. Recommend some kind of corner bumper to put on there.
When we first arrived at the cabin I was almost in tears over the drive up. We fully expected the road to be gravel with somewhat of an incline however it is far worse than that. We live on a gravel drive so driving on a gravel road is out of the normal for me. This road is not properly maintained and is dangerous in some spots. I felt so tricked by the description in the listing for this property. It fails to mention the huge potholes, steep incline, the fact that it’s one lane with some spots for a car to pull to the side to pass. There is one spot that is so steep you have to give your car a little speed to make it up the incline but there are also huge potholes the whole way up so your forced to hit them hard or stall out. I would describe this road as an ATV trail at best. If you have a luxury vehicle and value your suspension/brakes, do yourself a favor and find another listing.
The cabin itself is nothing fancy and quite smaller than pictures. The flooring in the loft was just plywood laid on top of the studs. Doesn’t feel sturdy with more than one adult standing up there. There are no dressers, the drawers in the side tables of the bedroom were broken. The mattress was so uncomfortable as it was an old spring mattress with no support. Internet is DSL and extremely slow. Needless to say we did not enjoy our stay and felt like it was way overpriced.
Perfect place for a quiet getaway. The cabin and the drive up the mountain is exactly as described. Enjoyed kayaking and horseback riding. Driving through the Shenandoah National Park is beautiful. Not a lot of restaurants to choose from. Found out that some places didn't survive Covid and other places times and days vary due to staffing issues, but that is the same just about anywhere you go. It was nice cooking on the grill and eating outside on the deck.
Kids loved the walks in the woods and even though not season for waterfall, they loved the area for the falls. We lived the hot tub and wildlife around cabin.
Brian's place was wonderful! Very comfortable and all that we needed for a long mother/daughter hiking weekend. The drive up to the cabin is a rough one, but my Santa Fe made it without 4WD. The place was clean including the hot tub which was wonderful after a day of hiking. We cooked all 4 nights there and had everything we needed. I do recommend bringing a sharp knife, the ones there are very dull. The beds are very comfortable. Good view and quiet. I would recommend this cabin, but likely won't stay again because of the drive up the mountain--just me. Thank you Brian for a wonderful weekend!
