everything was very nice and the staff was great, other than the front desk staff getting an extra $50 from me for a room upgrade (better view) and ended up giving me the same room that i initially reserved!

I truly enjoyed my stay here. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. They made me feel like I belonged and I was apart of their family. My room was immaculate with a stunning view of the mountains and sauna and jet tub. It’s a 4 min walk to the beach and other attractions. I will be returning for another visit!!

Room was a decent size, and the staff kindly upgraded me due to a leg injury. Breakfast was busy and often overcrowded, with the buffet fairly average. The lifts also broke down during my stay, which was a real nightmare given my mobility issues

Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff was friendly ...the breakfast was extravagant....lots of good tasty options being constantly refilled. Close to shopping, food and the Copacabana beach. Excellent location. The bathroom design was horrible... though spacious the towels being hung above the toilet and open bidet was disgusting. . A towel rack on the blank wall would have been so much more sanitary. The air-conditioning was kept to the barest minimum...way too hot. I would however stay there again because the location is very convenient.

Stayed only 3 days, WiFi never worked, ac was not functional, puddles of water kept appearing under the sink. I complained, first they said it would be fixed, it wasn’t. Next day they offered to change my room but had to be done the following morning, which was my last day. Would still recommend for the location.

The hotel is very centrally located, just a few blocks from the beach, which made it very convenient for getting around. The property was clean, and the breakfast offered a good variety of options. However, the customer service at the front desk definitely needs improvement. Every time I had to speak with the lobby staff, they did not seem willing or interested in helping. Their responses were often very short and dismissive, and I did not feel welcomed or supported when I needed assistance. I was also surprised that the hotel charges guests to store their luggage before check-in. I have stayed at many hotels and had never experienced being charged simply to leave my bags for a few hours before the room was ready.

3/5 – Decent Stay, But Room for Improvement I'm not usually one to complain and generally try to enjoy the experience wherever I stay. I had spent the first part of my Brazil trip in São Paulo, where the hotel and amenities were excellent, which perhaps set my expectations a little higher for Rio. The Royal Rio Palace wasn't a bad hotel, but there were a few areas that could be improved. The main issue was housekeeping. My room wasn't cleaned daily, and on more than one occasion I had to visit reception to request cleaning. The hotel was also very busy, with guests arriving at all hours of the night, which sometimes affected the overall atmosphere. Breakfast offered a good selection, but the dining area was extremely crowded every morning, making it difficult to enjoy the experience. The gym equipment is quite dated and could benefit from an upgrade. I also found the steam room was only operating once during my entire stay. Overall, I would rate the hotel 3 out of 5. It's in a good location and isn't a bad place to stay, but a few improvements to housekeeping, wellness facilities, and breakfast capacity would make a noticeable difference.

About two blocks away from the beach, felt very safe in the neighborhood. Great food options close by. Staff is very nice and helpful. Breakfast buffet had scrambled eggs different sausages and lots of fresh fruit and bread options. My only complaint is the scrambled eggs were very wet but overall great food at breakfast! Room was a little small but very clean and nice. Pool was so beautiful and they have a sauna and place to hangout on the roof with great views. I would definitely stay here again!
