"We rented an RV and had no idea this was even a thing. The owners go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied. Nothing is ever perfect, but just having someone try their best to make you happy is what matters most to me. The property itself is amazing and this is definitely a place we will come back to, either renting or bringing our own RV. They are also right in the heart of where the best spots on the Frio are."

RIVER IS YOUR BACKYARD!

RIVER IS YOUR BACKYARD!

8/10 Good
"The place is a fantastic cabin and bunkhouse with enviably quiet and beautiful river access. I stayed the weekend with my five older sons as part of our annual retreat. We had a great time. However, for us the stay and cost were offset by having to provide all of our linens and towels. We had one roll of paper towels and one trash bag which were insufficient for a group this size. Leaving with all the dishes done; not just running in the dishwasher, was an added inconvenience relative to the cost. Again a wonderful place but the pre- and post-trip labor felt more like camping with walls and a/c than we had hoped for."

"This house worked out well with the number of people we had. It’s a beautiful home and had almost everything we needed. The pool was a godsend in the heat and after being on the river. We really enjoyed our stay and when I wanted to extend one more day, the host was more than accommodating. Definitely would stay again!"

Unique home on Catclaw Mountain with a pool and pet friendly

Unique home on Catclaw Mountain with a pool and pet friendly

10/10 Excellent
"t was a very fun house! The pool was awesome, the view from the balcony was amazing, and it got COLD at night! The only nitpicky things I would mention are that there weren’t many utensils or pans available, so if you plan on cooking a meal at the house, I would advise bringing EVERYTHING you need to prepare it. We did burgers and hot dogs outside, which worked out great, and I would definitely recommend utilizing the outdoor grill. One last thing: be careful in the pool. There are areas where it drops from about 3 feet to 5 feet pretty quickly, and you could easily twist an ankle if you’re not paying attention.Overall, this was a very fun weekend! There is A LOT of space for a huge group, plenty of places to sleep, and I would HIGHLY recommend this place for your next weekend getaway."

Indian Falls Retreat and Lodging

10/10 Excellent
"The house was nice, cozy, clean and roomy. Everything you need in a home was available to you. The whole property is just beautiful and the river was running great where we could float down the river or just lounge in our chairs. It was perfect timing when we went!We even took our family pic on the river. with the waterfall behind us. Garner state park is about a 30 minute drive and that was fun as well. We will definitely be coming back."

Cozy Log Cabin called Buffalo Horizon. Sleeps 4. Close to Frio River

10/10 Excellent
"Cabin was clean and nicely kept. If you want coffee, there is a small Keurig but no K-cups; a couple bottled waters are provided to start you with. You need to bring more bottles and K-cups but it was not a deal breaker for us. Jack-n-Jill bathroom, TV’s in each room. Mini split A/C’s were nice for different cooler/warmer sleeping people. No washer/dryer but was also not a deal breaker. Kitchen is stocked otherwise as far as cooking utensils, pots/pans, silverware, etc. Property is at the end of a long road so it feels very remote and safe, very quiet - however it is a one car road so there will be times you may need to pull off. There is another cabin in close proximity (I believe another rental of the same company) but we didn’t really mind - we never heard the other people, even when they were outside. You do have a dedicated driveway to your cabin so you’re not encroaching on the other cabin and likewise them to you. I do believe there was some property work going on during our stay so there a was a little machinery noise but we were already up and moving around (around 10am) so we were not woken up by beeping. Front door window blind is missing but all other windows are covered. We used a towel and hair ties fastened to the plastic pieces where a blind was at one point.Communication with hose was very fast and clear. We do plan to make a river trip a yearly thing and will plan to stay at this cabin again (or the neighboring one) if dates match up."
