"This is our preferred location In Dumaguete. We are always happy with the staff, location, parking, breakfast buffet, and massage and travel services in the lobby. Wifi was marginal, but no other negatives to speak of. I feel very safe and comfortable here and recommend. "
"The staff at CoCo Grande are the best, they treat everyone like family. It’s clean, quiet, and relaxing. It is dated but that gives it character. Traffic would be the only negative factor but that is a problem all over the city of Dumaguete."

"No towel service, crazy small room that they crammed a shower, washer, and toilet. You had to step around/squeeze by the washer to get to the toilet. You’re practically standing in the shower when using the sink. Water everywhere on floor. Ridiculous service in fixing the leak. We actually checked out after one night out of the 5 scheduled days. All they said was thank you, no sorry for the inconvenience. Plus tv has no channels. Nothing. Not even local. "

"My ETA was well past the last check in, but a member of staff was kind enough to stay behind.
The dorm had 4 bunkbeds, an AC unit and a fan. The AC and fan worked well. Each guest was given a towel and a locker big enough to hold a large backpack. The bed had an Asian style firm mattress and a thin sheet, a private light, 2 sockets and a small shelf.
Common areas include a kitchen area, dining/working area with breakfast tables and high chairs, and another lounge area by the reception. There's no AC in the common areas, although the areas were open with nettings to restrict insects, so at least there was air circulating. I never got bitten while in the common area. There are several toilet/bathrooms. These were always clean whenever I used them. The water pressure is okay, good enough and works. There's not much ventilation in the shower rooms though.
There is Wifi throughout the property and it works well.
Location wise, the hostel is roughly between the airport and town. it's about 15 minutes walk to the port and 20 to the centre of Dumaguete. There is a convenience store close by and several restaurants too. At night, the area is quiet, but you can hear the traffic in the morning.
The hostel employ staff who are hard of hearing, so kudos for that. The communication can be slower, but please be kind and patient. The staff work hard cleaning several times a day.
Overall, I had an excellent stay. The hostel and facilities are basic, but clean and comfortable."
"Great venue - what you see is what you get. There are things to improve on, a fridge in the room would be most wanted rather than a communal one on each floor after all it’s hot in the Philippines and you want a cold drink at night. Pool fantastic, staff fantastic and overall an 8.5 out of 10. Breakfast a little basic but the cafe behind does fantastic Filipino cuisine. It’s like an Ibis or your basic Novotel "
"We highly recommend the Hotel Palwa. Our third-floor room was in great condition: mattress and pillows were comfortable, Wi-Fi, shower, toilet, AC all worked very well. The hotel room was quiet, yet it is easily within walkable distance to downtown attractions. As a side note, there is a small bakery directly south, across the street, which serves the best cinnamon rolls I’ve ever had!
