Try your luck at Harrah's casino in Cherokee, about 40 min drive from our property. Visit local museums and heritage sites to learn about the native people of the Appalachians. Head down "Moonshiner 28" road to Tapoco Lodge, a beautiful restaurant and store situated on the river and just a few minutes from the start of the famous Tail of the Dragon, an 11 mile stretch of road between TN & NC, highly sought after by motorcyclists and sports car enthusiasts.
*Important things to note: -While fully paved, the drive up to the property is steep and we highly recommend AWD/4WD. Videos of the drive can be viewed by searching for "Azure Heights drive up from main road" on the world's largest video platform. -In the winter months, if snow or ice is present, parking further down & walking up may be required, ask about this before booking. -We allow up to 4 vehicles on the property (2 motorcycles count as 1 vehicle). Trailers are not permitted on the property. -We have regular pest control treatments and do everything we can to mitigate critters. However, this is an older cottage home and surrounded by forest. It is impossible to prevent all bugs from entering the home. Cabin owners in the Smoky Mountains in the fall and winter months deal especially with ladybugs & stinkbugs trying to enter the house to overwinter. We provide a hand vacuum to easily remove the few that get past all our preventative measures.

Lovely place to stay. We couldn't be more happy with it. We stayed with our friends for Vettes vs the Dragon and had the best accommodations with the perfect view.
Host was always responsive and polite. House was nice, clean, and had lots of activities for friends and family. House had everything you need for a long time stay! Stayed 4 nights and loved the house and the view from the front porch! Highly recommend no complaints here!
They supplied all of the cooking equipment and commonly used items that people forget to buy when staying at a place like this. The number of times I've had to go out to buy salt, spices, oil, trash bags, etc, when staying at a place like this has been insane. I'm soooo happy these guys supply all this stuff, especially when it's in a remote location where accessing the grocery store is time consuming. Well done!
The views were amazing and the house was clean with fun amenities like a hot tub and fire pit with enough seating for a larger family. The host was very responsive and made it easy to enjoy our vacation. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend!
It was just outstanding stay in a wonderful location with a million dollar view on mountains. The house was clean, cozy and felt like grandma countryside style house which met all expectations. The owner was very sweet and responsive. Overall experience was great!
The view from the top of this mountain was spectacular; the host was extremely helpful and quick to respond. The hill getting up there is a little troublesome, only because of how steep it is, but if you want to get to the top of the mountain you have to climb - so it was expected. Overall, everything was just as advertised in the ad.
The property was clean and had all the essentials for our stay. The view is amazing! Hot tub and fire pit was definitely a great amenity. Great communication with the property manager. A truly great place to relax and reset. Would definitely recommend.
Wonderful last minute weekend getaway. The view was spectacular and the house was set up so charming. The road up the mountain is no joke, but do-able in a challenger. Wouldn't have thought of going to the tail of the dragon on our own ( something we've done a few times before and were just looking for a secluded weekend),but when the host has a car wash station set up ,it makes you want to do it again. Weather was great for hot tub and firepit. They had robes and blankets ready for outdoor use. Host was very responsive and helpful. Even when I lagged on resonse times. Hey I'm on digital vacation. Would definitely stay again.
This is a beautiful property where you will enjoy the most amazing view of the mountains whether you are sipping coffee on the front porch, relaxing in the hot tub or toasting s'mores over the fire pit. The house is spotless and very comfortable from the bedrooms to the cozy living area. The host Rosa is easy to communicate with and has thought of everything: coffee pods, creamer, a s’mores starter kit, firewood and hot tub towels ready to go! My family enjoyed zip lining and kayaking both less than 30 minutes away from the property by day then spent our afternoons and evenings enjoying the home’s amenities in a quiet secluded setting. It was the perfect getaway for my family.
From towel hooks and cup holders perfectly placed by the hot tub, information for nearby attractions (and their distance from the home), very clear instructions, well labeled EVERYTHING, and games and toys for all, to the perfect porch set up for sunrise breakfasts, lazy rocking chair afternoons, and a well stocked fire pit (complete with marshmallows and roasting sticks), this owner really did a beautiful job thinking through everything her guests may need and is one step ahead of them! It’s an older home full of character & warmth. It was a lovely, clean, comfortable, well organized and stocked VRBO. We truly enjoyed our stay! If mountain views are what you’re looking for, this has the most beautiful view of the mountains and the valley. The only thing I would add would be that our 2015 Ford Transit with 2 adults and 7 children did have some difficulty getting up the last little bit of the drive, however after giving it a little break and some of us walking, we were able to make it all the way up and going down was a breeze.
Very nice place had everything we needed. Communicated well with the owner prior to stay and during the stay. Great view and located close to all the places we wanted to visit
Amazing get away for our family of 4. View was absolutely stunning!! The house is so warm & welcoming.. lots of stuff to do around the house plus things just a bit of a drive away. We plan to return in the year's to come!
Amazing property and a great host! Stunning views from every room. Close to some great activities, but there is enough at the house to keep everyone entertained. Look forward to coming back.
We loved our stay! Our favorite places were the front porch and sitting around the campfire. The beds are super comfortable. The view was spectacular. The road/driveway is steep (as advertised) but was actually fun to drive with AWD/ 4x4. My 19 y.o. was able to drive it with just a little encouragement to keep her foot on the gas!
What a magical view! We had an incredible stay here. It was a very family friendly place. Rosa pays attention to the small details that can be extremely helpful to a family. She provided materials to make smores, and many other essentials for a stay in the mountains. Thank you again!
