  • Welcome to the South Wedge! This is a quiet, highly desirable neighborhood in the heart of Rochester. Minutes to downtown, Highland Park, Highland Hospital, Strong Hospital, the University of Rochester, and local attractions.

    This beautifully renovated 2-bed 1-bath apartment offers comfort, style, and convenience. The bright, thoughtfully designed space provides a relaxing stay, ideal for enjoying everything the city has to offer, and return to a calm, private retreat with its own balcony.


    *** About the property: This property is a two-story building, offering an entire apartment rental on each floor.

    This listing is for the 2nd-floor apartment which is accessible by a smart lock door through the main hallway. A flight of stairs must be taken to access the apartment. The apartment has its own entrance door protected by a smart lock. There is a balcony which is exclusively for this apartment to enjoy. The backyard area is shared between the two apartments. The front porch is for access only and not to be used by guests for any other purpose.

    Parking: One free parking spot is available on a first-come, first-served basis, shared with the downstairs unit. Additional free street parking is available. Please note that street parking follows an alternative side rule. Please review the street signs before parking.


    *** Getting around:
    We are located in a unique area of Rochester called the South Wedge. Here, you find lots of dining and entertainment options within walking distance or a few minutes' drive. This is a very walkable and safe neighborhood, right between bus lines 41 and 12 that connect it to downtown, and bus 97 that connects to the UR afternoon via Elmwood ave in the mornings and afternoons. Veo also offers bike and scooter rentals via smartphone app.

    Stairs at the property:
    Guests must climb a flight of stairs to the second floor. There are handrails for guest safety. The basement is accessible via a steep set of stairs. Caution is advised.

    Air Conditioning (seasonal):
    The unit is equipped with a large window-based AC device from June through to September. Please use the ceiling fan to circulate the air in the apartment and keep all other windows closed.

Clean and pet friendly. We stayed during 90 degree days and the single window air conditioner had trouble keeping the bedrooms cool, but otherwise it was a great stay. Communication with the host was quick and convenient. Neighbors were quiet, even on a holiday weekend.

Comfortable, clean, and in a great location! Parking can be a little tricky with the alternate side of the road rules and the first-come-first-served space shared with the unit below, but never had an actual issue finding parking when needed.Only cons were that the smaller of the two bedrooms didn't have good air circulation unless the door was open and the windows let in a lot of morning light, so if you're not a rise-with-the-sun person, think about bringing a sleep mask

The property was in a great neighborhood, friendly and helpful neighbors. It was a great location, close to grocery store, some restaurants and gas stations. There was a park in walking distance, called Highland park, very beautiful and peaceful. Loved it, would stay here again!
