worked out convenient for our trip, the property appears to be in the process of re-hab, and still needs a little more work, but it served its purpose. we were comfortable and felt safe.

Central location just what I needed
I attended my cousin wedding and I need a place for 5 days, this was affordable, simple and just what I needed, isn't luxurious but look better than the pictures, parking included and you need a app to open the door that gives me hard time in the begging but in general I really enjoy the place, he let me check in early thing that helped me A LOT! There are couple tv's that I don't really needed it, hot water working, AC and heater, thanks

My Rochester Go-To
This is about my 3rd stay and love it every time. whenever I travel to Rochester I always check to see if this property is available. David is a great host. the place is very big and stocked with everything I needed. I really enjoyed the front porch and back parking. excellent stay

In town for a few days to bring our freshman to RIT. Location was about 15 minutes away, pretty convenient. Property is clean, not fancy. Ample parking. Some noise from upstairs unit. Neighborhood is fine but no grocery in walking distance.

I loved the location of the apartment, the size, and the fact that there was a washer and dryer on site. I didn't like how small the shower was and the very limited counter space in the bathroom. I would suggest the owner get a small stand/table to put under the larger window in the bathroom for guests' toiletries.

The property was at the right location and was clean and had everything I need it. I had issues with the key system. I wanted to use the physical key because I had a hard time to understand how to use the application on line to be able to open the door. When I got into the apartment I had a hard time to open the apartment. The property manager made a mistake and put the wrong key in the box. The property manager showed up and explained to my son how to get into the application and be able to open the apartment. I rather do the normal way, use a key to get in.

A place to stay
I stayed in this place for my 27th reunion with my college peers. I come from SC and the place is interesting. Close to everything I attended but access to the house was a bit of a struggle. However, we both figured out the issues. Nice place to stay.

Perfect Place to Stay
We were in town for my daughters hockey, and needed a place to stay - and this ended up being one of the best VRBOs we've ever stayed at. Communication with the owner was easy and it fit all our needs - we even were able to check in early. Everything you would want to go to in Rochester is max 15 minutes away - and you can walk to some cool places. Don't judge - but I went to this bar 4 nights in a row - and you can walk there from this house - highly recommend it if you stay here: "The Playhouse / Swillburger" You shouldn't hesitate to book here - and when we are back in Rochester we will definitely stay here again.

A Mixed Bag
We rented the apartment for 9 days during a school break. The space had everything we needed once a few issues were ironed out. Given the other reviews, I assume my situation was an anomaly. Unfortunately the check in process for us was terrible. They seemed unaware that we were coming. 1). Stairs covered with 8” of ice/snow. 2). Dirty linens and towels on the floor from previous renters. Old valentines balloons in corner showing that previous people were there two weeks before. 3). Manager apologized and provide clean towel and sheets but I needed to request that the bathroom and kitchen be cleaned. He arranged for someone to come that night and clean those two spaces. She also cleaned the common room floors. 4). Day 2 woke to find many ants in the kitchen and bathroom. Called to inform him and he dropped off ant bate stations. 5). Also, the silverware and dishes had crusty food on them. That speaks to the prior renters but fits the theme of lack of quality control, as did other small things like missing tv remote and lightbulb needing to be replaced Not a great start but the manager did fix everything and days 3-9 went as expected. Comfortable beds, plenty of heat. Rochester recommendations: Geva Theater The Strong National Museum of Play Dinosaur BBQ Susan B Anthony House Coffee Connection

Awesome stay
This is a lovely big 2 bedroom apartment/duplex on the first floor. I love the small patio and parking was a breeze. The place was perfect for me. The host was very accommodating. I would say the shower itself is a tad bit small but I made it work. Great location close to downtown. I felt very safe staying here by myself. Kitchen was nice and loved the big TV. Pictures just don't do this place justice as it's much better in person. If your hesitant to book don't be. This place is perfect. Book now!!!!!

The property is located in a walkable area. The home has good space. Some of it is updated. But it was updated and thrown together cheaply. There were a lot of corners cut with decor, amenities ect. It was surfaced cleaned but not well kept. Missing light bulbs, very dirty windows, ants, broken blinds. I feel there are similar property’s in better shape for similar cost in that area. The little porch and parking were a plus.

Great Central Location
I stayed here with a family member and my two dogs and our time was perfect. The apartment was clean, comfortable, safe, and stocked with necessities. My favorite aspect had to be the location; everything was walkable.

Location is incredible. Can get to anywhere in a matter of minutes. Cozy neighborhood. Old house issues. Parking area had way too many leaves. Made for uncomfortable parking in the night. Heating/cooling. Front bedroom has no open vent. Definitely clean and updated. Bad communication lead to a bad initial experience. As well as noisy upstairs tenants. Would recommend for families.

We enjoyed our stay in this charming old home. While we had a car, we happily discovered lots of great restaurants and coffee shops within a 10-15 minute walk, some much closer. A comfortable place to stay for our Rochester vacation!

Basic. Central location - quick to everywhere.
The building show its age, and the unit I stayed in is not well insulated from noise from neighbors. Entry is seamless. Bed was comfortable. Furnishings are basic. Parking right behind the house is a great feature. Owner very responsive.

Pleasant stay in character home in Rochester
This first floor apartment in an older house in downtown Rochester met our needs precisely. It is not fancy, but had everything we required. It was clean, bed was comfortable, we found all the necessities in the kitchen and were able to do our laundry in the basement. David was very responsive to our questions.

Just what we were looking for
This property was exactly what we were looking for. We had a three days stay because we were having a new rug put in and the odors would have been damaging to our cockatiel. The owner could not have been more considerate, allowing us to check in earlier than usual so our bird did not have to experience the fumes of the rug. I would highly recommend this property.

The property was conveniently located for our family activities. It was me, my two adult children, and one grandson. The unit was very clean. We loved the off-street parking. My daughter loved the kitchen. My grandson loved the light up rubber ducks in the bathroom! We had a request from the owner during our stay and he was very responsive. Excellent customer service! We would stay here again.

The apartment itself was functional and met our needs. It was a great location, very easy to find. It’s right by the main road but not too close that you have a lot of traffic or noise. The neighborhood was pretty quiet. The house itself is an old house with some of those old house quirks. You can tell that the owner has done a lot of work on the apartment, especially the kitchen. However, the bathroom was a little weird and the shower very small. It never seemed to get very hot either, the water was just warm enough to be comfortable for a shower, but never actually hot. The overall cleanliness was decent, but there were little things like the casings around the doors and the rug in the living room that could have been much cleaner. The lock on the door was frustrating. It’s a smart lock system that’s been fitted to an old door and it was very ticky. It got rather annoying by the third try of getting it to unlock. For us, we were really only there in the evenings right before bed and we left early in the morning. For that, it met our needs. Overall, a decent property but not the best Vrbo we’ve stayed at.

This first floor apartment was spacious and perfect for what we needed. It was clean and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you would need to make a meal. We didn't have any issues but I'm sure if we did they would have been dealt with promptly. The owner was very responsive to questions, answering within minutes. I would stay here again with no reservations.

The property is located in a good spot to get around all of Rochester and the surrounding suburbs. We were in town for a wedding and everywhere we needed to be was within a 15 minute drive of the place. David, the owner, was very responsive via text during the check-in process. Nice location. Old house with a few issues.
Nice location. Walking distance to restaurants and boutique stores. Easy access off the freeway. We stayed in the downstairs apartment. Very roomy with 2 bedrooms. Nice living room and large eating area. Kitchen stocked with basics. Bathroom could have been a bit cleaner. Our first night was great. Unfortunately the second night there was a renter in the upstairs apartment. They partied with loud music, yelling/singing and stomping until 5am. Given that it is a very old house, there is no noise insulation so it seemed like they were in our suite. David was easy to book with and easily accessible during the day. Unfortunately we could not get hold of him at night when we had the problem. We would stay again if it was just the one suite, but would not take a chance with the upstairs suite because we did not sleep most of the night.

Lisa, I’m sorry that I was unable to respond to your plea for assistance since I was recovering from a cold. I responded as soon as I saw the message. I make it very clear to my guests in a welcome message after booking that after 10:00 PM guests are to keep noise to a minimum: “This is a second floor apartment with another VRBO downstairs. Be considerate of this fact and please keep the noise to a minimum after 10:00 PM (this is also part of the City of Rochester noise ordinance). In order to minimize noise and the tracking of mud and dirt throughout the apartment, please remove your shoes before going upstairs.” Unfortunately, some people are not considerate of house rules and you bore the brunt of that for your one of two nights. You may consider renting the upstairs unit next time instead or the whole house. Knocking on the adjacent apartment’s door and politely requesting them to keep it down would have been another possible step to take.
