The property is older, but the room decor has been refreshed, and it was fine enough for a short stay. That said, there were a few issues.
First, the plumbing: if someone uses the sink while another person is showering, the shower water immediately turns scalding hot or shockingly cold, depending on which way the sink faucet is turned.
The listing was also misleading. Both the "Amenities" and “About this property” section mention “cookware, dishware, and utensils,” a “kitchenette,” and an ice maker, while also identifying that the room has a fridge and microwave. The “kitchenette” does not exist, nor does the ice maker. The microwave takes up half of the only table, and the fridge is across the room, with no counter space or extra sink. The photos of the room made me doubt the "kitchenette," but because we planned to eat breakfast and lunch in the room, we expected the listed dishware and utensils. We had to ask for them, and then received some pushback because “this room does not have a kitchenette.” ...But the listing indicated such, and additionally said dishware and utensils were included.
The “What’s nearby” section also needs updating. Two listed restaurants are permanently closed. Another is described as “walking distance from your front door,” but is actually in Manzanita, about a 20-minute drive away. Manhattan Beach is listed as a 10-minute walk, but it is actually a brisk 30-minute walk.
Overall the room worked, but the listing should be more accurate.
