About this property
A little history. A lot of heart. Award Winning Historic Estate in the Delta.
Before it welcomed guests, The Clements House was a dream — one built by a doctor, a judge’s daughter, and generations of Delta grit.
The story begins in 1891, when Anne Foote Clements, daughter of Judge Hezekiah Foote, one of Rolling Fork’s early settlers, built this home with her husband, Dr. E.C. Clements — a Civil War veteran, physician, and adventurer in his own right. Their first house in the area was lost to fire, but undeterred, they rebuilt here and later remodeled the home in 1899, creating the beautiful structure that still stands today.
Through the decades, the house has seen it all — love and loss, laughter and change, family gatherings and quiet resilience. And somehow, through it all, The Clements House has remained — a living piece of Delta history, standing tall and welcoming all who walk through its doors.
When Vicki, the great-granddaughter of Dr. E.C. and Anne Foote Clements, inherited the house, she didn’t just renovate it — she resurrected it.
Every room became a reflection of her fearless spirit: bold colors, wild patterns, and quirky treasures that tell stories of their own. Think velvet chairs that make you grin, chandeliers that beg to be noticed, and wallpapers so lively they practically dance.
Vicki brought back the charm and history of her family home, but with a twist that’s all her own — a balance of nostalgia and surprise that makes every guest feel like they’ve stepped into something truly special.
She often says she didn’t just want to “fix it up.” She wanted to make it feel alive again. Mission accomplished.
Today, The Clements House is more than a place to sleep — it’s a living piece of Mississippi history, dressed up in the kind of personality you’ll only find in the Delta.
Guests come for the history, stay for the hospitality, and leave with stories that feel like their own. Because around here, the welcome is as genuine as the wallpaper is loud — and that’s saying something.
