"We had a wonderful stay at this property. My daughter/husband set up this weekend away for my birthday and it couldn't have worked out better. The fireplaces were cozy in the evening and great for sitting by with our morning coffee. We enjoyed playing games on the screened in porch. Even though it was a little chilly, the fireplace and blankets made it comfy. The sauna was a nice treat also. The selection of coffee mugs made us smile!! It is evident the owners put a lot of care into making the guests feel welcome. All of the special touches with games, vases of flowers and peanuts for the squirrels made for a wonderful stay. We highly recommend to anyone looking for a cozy relaxing getaway!"

"This was our second time spending Thanksgiving week at Woodland Retreat. We appreciate the overall cleanliness of the house. All the beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked. The primary suite has plenty of room for baby’s portable crib. The downstairs bonus room is ideal for family movie night. The hosts are very kind and quick to respond to any questions. "

"How in good conscience anyone would list this "floating oasis" as great or stunning is irreprehensibl Was no safe way of accessing the boat for five 65-68 yr. old women. No ramp to access. Needed to jump from a plastic two step stool onto a ledge and pull yourself up ladder to get on deck. If you would unfortunately slip or lose your grip you would be in the water. Received check-in instructions upon arrival. Which completely put a damper on our trip right from the get go. Instructions indicated all the hoses and wires that needed hooked up??? Then of all things the bathroom instructions for only "#1's NO #2'S. Were given codes for bathroom at Marina office which was a considerable distance from the boat. I can tell you if these details were listed in posting of boat we would have never booked. In fact we went to the Marina office and spoke to the owner looking for the location of the boat slip. "Pete" was in shock when we told him that we had booked this for the weekend. His immediate response was "you ladies will never be able to get on that boat." He also gave several other negative details that were shocking. After contacting VRBO and speaking to representative multiple times they attempted to contact owner of the boat multiple times. Owner wouldnt respond. VRBO representative advised to dispute charge with bank. We tried to reach her email & actually responded and we explained our issue requesting refund. She said we had to go VRBO. AS OF TODAY DENIED! Nevr got on boat"

"The house was perfect for our needs. Great location next to the marina and a great restaurant. Plenty of space for family to us and games for the kids. Donna was a pleasure as a host. "

"Communication with the host was great. From the time we arrived until we left, we thoroughly enjoyed this home. There were eight ladies in our group and we had a wonderful few days away. The house was spotless and even more beautiful than the pictures. The kitchen is one of the most well appointed kitchens I’ve seen. I was the chef in the group and I had everything I needed. We were impressed with the crab eating supplies such as mallets, paper and crackers. The views are breathtaking even in November. We all agreed we would return. "
