Byron Hinterland Hexagonal Eco-cabin
NOTE: STRICTLY NO PARTIES. *This is a working farm, so you may sometimes see someone working in the fields or farm buildings.
This is a unique retreat-style home on our organic syntropic farm, surrounded by lush rainforest. The two-bedroom eco-home is inspired by Japanese design, and craftsman-built from timber felled on the property. (There is an optional additional bedroom: please see other listing). Enjoy evening campfires at the firepit; outdoor showers with sweeping valley views; a chef's kitchen; and stargazing at the stone circle, made of million-year-old basalt boulders, gathered from our property.
The space Typically, dwellings are built to keep the natural world out. We designed our home to invite nature in. The heart of the home is a circular fireplace, around which various living spaces are arranged in open-plan. There are 360-degree views around the entire hexagonal timber house, and a huge local ironbark deck with outdoor shower overlooking Corndale Valley.
The property is entirely off-grid - with vortex-structured filtered rainwater and solar power.
We are 35 minutes from Byron Bay, Ballina airport, Mullumbimby, and Lismore; a short drive to Minyon Falls, Whian Whian, Nightcap ranges, Doma Café in Federal, The Eltham Pub, Rocky Creek Dam, Channon markets, Nimbin village, Crystal Castle, and numerous waterfalls and exquisite walks.
We invite you to reconnect with nature at our unique and peaceful retreat.
Guest access Guests have access to the 'home paddock' of several acres.
Guests do not have access to farm buildings, construction areas, and conservation zones.
No vehicle access outside of driveways.
Other things to note:
Driving into the valley you travel down a steep gravel one-lane driveway. Please take it slow.
This is a Japanese-style home. No shoes inside please.
Please keep all food items in pantry, fridge, or sealed containers to deter wildlife inside.
Only registered guest are permitted at the property, and the number of occupants is strictly enforced. As an off-grid eco-home, we carefully calibrate rainwater, solar power, and septic usage for both the house and farm. No additional occupants beyond the number booked. Failure to abide by this rule will incur a fine or eviction. No Parties. No Events. No Schoolies.
We accept no responsibility for damage, injury, loss, or accidents during your stay. It is a condition of booking that all guests indemnify the owners against liability for any incidents, loss, injury, or accident occurring during your stay.
