"There are definitely some house issues that l see from other reviews that were still present during our stay. Not sure if they were communicated to Jennifer directly or just left in the review, but l addressed them in an email to her and she was very responsive so l hope they will be corrected for future renters. But these were just minor irritations compared to how wonderful this house was for our group. The location was great. Granted you would not walk to the slopes with all of your gear, etc...

"We traveled here with 6 adults and 3 children and had a wonderful time! The cottage is in a beautiful location and close enough to get to stores and restaurants. It’s incredibly clean, well-appointed and perfect for big groups. The owners are very friendly. We enjoyed exploring outside and playing games with the kids. There are also lots of hiking options nearby. We were there for a wedding but we would definitely come back!"

"This year’s gathering of our ever growing tribe of children, grands and canine landed us as close to the Heavens as possible. This property was perfectly set up for sleeping arrangements, meal sharing, dog convenience and activities for all ages… the climbing wall was especially popular with our young gymnast and the free-standing video arcade was nostalgically fun for all ages. Of course, being March, the hot tub and sauna got used quite a bit too. The ultimate lure of this property...

"The property was perfect for our family to stay for LU’s graduation weekend. The hosts were accessible and responsive. They were accommodating when I messed up the reservation and got that straightened out with no hassle. The home is beautiful and spotless. Loved it."

"This was a work trip for myself and my crew of 2. This house was way beyond expectations! If more stars could be given, I would. House was very clean and kitchen exceptionally stocked with full set of pots and pans, and dinner ware for at least 8 people. Location is great as it is a half mile from downtown Staunton. This neighborhood is very walk-able and quiet. I will definately stay here again."

"Stayed with my husband, best friend and her husband and mother. Celebrating two birthdays! The house and views were beautiful! Very clean and comfortable. We also walked the neighborhood, which was just as pleasant. Would definitely book this home again!"

"This was our second time to stay at this farm house. Anyone who is interested in farming, animals, American history or just wants a pleasant, pretty place to stay should book this property. My daughter was able to help milk the goats. My husband and I enjoyed the hike on the property to the fishing pond. We all enjoyed waking up to the sounds and sights of life on a farm. The hosts take extra care to meet all of your needs- highly recommend."

"Myself, along with my son and daughter-in-law, were in VA for a family wedding. The initial drive to the property off the main road seemed a never-ending series of hills, twists and turns, especially for folks from the city. But, in fact, the trip in/out was only about five minutes. The property itself was great. A two bedroom, one bath on the lower level of a lovely private home. The house is on a hill so we could drive right to our entrance in back. The unit is all on one floor with no steps...

"We had a great trip to the Charlottesville/Lynchburg area. The property was great for our family with lots to do on days when we had some free time. The host was very communicative and helpful. The property’s view of the mountains was fantastic, especially at sunset."

"Needed a place for family to gather for UVA graduation weekend. The house was a 30 minute easy drive to campus grounds. Also very short drive to Staunton restaurants and great proximity to Afton mountain vineyards. Easy check in, WiFi, ample parking (grass). Enjoyed our stay."

"It was amazing to have the privilege of being able to stay in a home that is this timeless. However with an 1850's home, there are some aspects that may not be what you're used to, especially the bathroom facilities. They were OK, but a renovation in that area would be welcome. The beds are all comfortable! Great internet, too. I loved just seeing all the antiques ... and the beautiful views. We weren't often at the house because we were in town for our daughters graduation. It's a unique...

"My sister, cousin, and I wanted to treat my mom to a girls weekend visiting wineries in Charlottesville for her 70th birthday. This was the absolute perfect place to stay! So close to many great wineries, and we had a blast at the end of the day chilling in this gorgeous space with Crozet pizza, watching chick flicks on the big screen, and wrapping it all up with a cozy evening in the hot tub! Location is super easy to get to and check in was a breeze!"
