"If you are eloping in NZ and taking off in a helicopter, I highly recommend booking the Edgewater, and if you can get it, premium suite #101. It was a mere 20m from our patio to the waiting helicopter, no having to drive anywhere etc.
That aside, the staff were so friendly with lots of nice personal touches noting our celebration. The refurbished rooms are tastefully decorated and spacious. Being right on the lake is beautiful and plenty of available parking. Getting into town is walkable otherwise a comfortable 5 min drive. "

"Everything you need, with a restaurant, pool and more. The rooms are modern with everything you need to make some basic meals. There isn’t a kitchen sink, but there is a handy pop up portable basin to wash dishes in so you don’t have to use the bathroom sink. "
"Staff were friendly and helpful, recommended the local feeds! Room was spacious and had a lot of amenities such as airfryer, hot plate and cooking necessities. Reception had lots of extra equipment available to borrow for the day, e.g. discs for disc golf, hiking poles and games."
"Loved it! Easy walking distance to the lake and heaps of cafes. We stayed in the budget 2 bedroom self contained cottage and although old it was the perfect choice for us and excellent value for money. I thought we would be really cold but there were heaps of blankets and more than enough heaters to go round. Great spot to set yourself up in for access to Cardrona and the Snow Farm. Hot water and pressure were great. Only thing I didn’t love was that there was no drop box for the room key as we departed early. I didn’t feel right leaving it in an unlocked box that could easily be opened by the next person and I didn’t have a code handy for the safe box. It was a little stressful figuring out what to do when we were in a hurry to leave for a full day on the slopes. I ended up giving the key to the guy in the office next to reception. Overall would recommend and stay again!"
"Stayed single room twin bed ensuite.
Private rooms are expensive in Wanaka. By far the first most expensive private room in NZ.
All good with essentials however which the bathroom are equipped with heater.
2 minutes walk to Four Square grocery and lots of eateries.
Only negative issue is bathroom is very cold in private room ensuite as there is no heater as compared to Haka Tekapo which has heater in both room and bathroom.
The detergents are diluted with 10% detergent and 90% water, guess that’s to save cost.
I bought my own detergent (not expensive from brand Pam’s) from four square to make sure the oily utensils are cleaned and oil free. "
