Jane was extremely helpful, the property was beautifully landscaped, some friendly wild life to greet visitors.
The unit was serene, a place to relax in between fossicking
Ruby Vale was all my dreams come true. Michael and Jane were wonderful host. Been wanting to get to Central Queensland for years. Weather was in the high twenties. Went on a mining tour and our meals were at the Ruby Vale Pub.

Thank you for being our guests - look forward to when you can return to Rubyvale :)
In a quiet location with local wildlife in the grounds, the kids loved feeding the wallabies while we amazed at the number of stars we could see at night.
Easy walk up the road to the pub for dinner or local shops.
We stayed 3 nights. The owners were away when we arrived, but Jenny was there and made sure we were well looked after. Our room was nice and clean, as was the pool and surrounds. The area is very quiet and sitting outside late afternoon with a cold beer and having the wallaby's and lorikeet's coming sitting next to you is a nice experience.

Thank you Erik, Yes we were away in Brisbane having Radiation Treatment for cancer. We can't thank all our guests enough for staying. We are home now and hope to see everyone again in the future! Jenny is wonderful - worth a million! So pleased you enjoyed your stay too - thank you for your lovely message! Regards Michael and Jane
We had a great time and than Jane and Michael for their hospitality. The atmosphere of a quiet bush setting was much to our taste and our hosts were great sources of information regarding the gem fields.
We would definitely recommend Rubyvale Motel
Great accommodation, lovely and clean in as new condition. It was private and peaceful with a neat outlook. We could not fault the service which was friendly and helpful. There was an awesome pool which we utilised at every opportunity to cool down and relax as the weather at Rubyvale was pretty warm.
The motel was a lovely escape for my husband and I. We found that it catered to our needs. It was centrally located to the numerous tourist experiences that we were looking for.
We looked forward to our fourth stay here, and were not disappointed. Love the unit, plenty of room, the facilities, spa bath, privacy, and the weather for us from winter in NZ. Even the kangaroos entertained us, showing how Joey hops in and out of the pouch, and hops/runs around in the early evening.
Not the first time I have stayed here and no doubt it won’t be the last. Clean comfortable and welcoming friendly hosts. Great spot and highly recommended.
We go back to this motel every year. Managed by the owners who are always willing to assist. All the rooms have beautiful bush views and native anamils are roaming the property. The swimming pool is sparkling clean and great to swim in after a hard day fossicking. Real value for money.
Absolutely loved Rubyvale Motel and Holiday Units. Jane and Michael were the ideal hostess and host and super friendly and helpful. Especially loved the barbecue and pool area and to top it all off, Mick's Observatory was an absolute highlight with amazing star gazing and enlightening commentary. Would love to have the opportunity to stay here again!
The modern design units were back from Heritage Rd a kilometre out of town, and were so quiet we were greeted by a wallaby hopping away as our car approached. The unit had a lovely quiet air con, and a comfy bed with quality bedding. We were warm (it gets very cold overnight inland).
Shower, jug and wifi were fine. Rubyvale Motel is possibly the best digs on the gemfields, but somewhat pricier than the competition.
Pros: Beautiful setting. All rooms have chairs outside that overlook bush, which is lovely to sit back and relax. Clean. Personal touches with display of towels on bed etc was lovely.
Very close to heritage mine for mine tour and town for dinner (both 3 min drives).
Con: owners not overly helpful with providing tourist attraction info and advice. Stayed twice; first time bed great, second time bed had dips and not comfortable.
Visited on a motor bike from SE Qld for an overnight stay on our way to Longreach. Very roomy accommodation with separate spa bath to shower/toilet and comfy bed. Everything worked well.
I took my brother in law from France to visit friends living in Rubyvale. The motel was absolument able any criticism.
the owner was always helpful and polite. As you know, french people are always very hard to please. but my brother/law was ecstatic about everything. Great advertising in Brittany, a province of France west of Paris.
Remote and quiet with a million stars to wonder at
Rubyvale is the heart of the gemfields. The town is quiet but there's a lovely pub that serves great food. The motel is close to the village centre. The owner was really nice and friendly and made us feel welcome. As its so remote the stars at night are awsome. Theres not much to do except chat with friends over a cold drink and enjoy the remoteness.
