The Boathouse Cottage is a beachfront family retreat just five minutes south along the shore from famous Old Orchard Beach and downtown attractions. It is situated near the quiet fishing village of Camp Ellis on Ferry Beach. The cottage is a spacious beachfront house with six bedrooms, three baths, and a two-sided wrap-around covered veranda and enclosed sun parlor providing an uninterrupted view of the entire Saco Bay and its several small islands.
Situated at the southern end of Saco Bay’s seven-mile beach, the cottage is unparalleled in its possibilities for fun and relaxation in a casual cottage atmosphere – spring, summer, or fall. Opportunities exist not just for summer swimming, sunbathing and terrific fishing, but also for Old Orchard Beach’s nearby beachfront amusement and family fun attractions. Beautiful oceanfront Ferry Beach State Park with its complex of nature, bicycle, and hiking trails is within brief walking distance just down the beach, and two nearby golf courses boast some of the best golfing in Maine.


At the Boathouse Cottage every effort has been made to provide convenience and comfort in a charming atmosphere for a relaxing and enjoyable seaside family vacation experience.

At the Boathouse Cottage, the six spacious bedrooms are newly decorated to provide a charming, casual, nautical cottage atmosphere for vacation living. The large living room, suitable for the whole household, has a color cable T.V., DVD and free WiFi. The wrap-around sun parlor is complete with a game table, assorted popular board and table games, a cozy daybed, overstuffed chairs and a panoramic oceanfront view. A separate dining room provides seating for the whole household. The fully equipped kitchen contains coordinated china service for twenty, all pots, pans and cooking utensils. It has a four burner gas stove with a large oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker with filters, hand mixer and dishwasher. Laundry facilities, located on the first floor, consist of a jumbo washer and dryer. There are three complete bathrooms with footed tub, shower, and tub and shower.

The oceanfront picnic area adjacent to the veranda includes picnic tables, a gas grill, wood fire pit and all necessary BBQ grilling utensils. The charming oceanfront veranda has relaxing, cushioned wicker patio furniture. You’ll enjoy a refreshing, sunny outdoor rinse or shower and shampoo when returning from swimming, fishing or sunbathing on the beach in the outdoor shower.

Great place for a family vacation. This was our second year here and we enjoyed every minute - the cottage, the beach, early morning walks, live music at Huots, as well as trips to local golf courses, walking at the Heath, shopping in Kennebunkport and a lighthouse cruise and lunch in Portland

Relaxing stay

We had three generations stating in the house. It had everything and more to make our stay comfortable. We enjoyed the fire pit each night, as well as the quick walk to the beach. It was such a relaxing trip for my family and I. We would definitely stay here again!

Great Vacation

We had a wonderful vacation with cousins, grandparents, aunts, and uncles. The house is in a great location close to the beach, There is a restaurant and store that are walkable, There are plenty of beds and we had 14 people over the weekend, The house was clean and Paul, the owner,was friendly and helpful.Fabulous spot!

Perfect place for a beautiful view of the northeast

The house was a perfect stay for the weekend of my mom's birthday. It is very close to a few great lobster places and very spacious with lots of sitting areas inside and out. My friend spent the majority of the trip on the benches in the backyard overlooking the bay. I would absolutely stay here again.

Beautiful vacation house!

We had a wonderful time! The surrounding area has certainly been hit by some big storms lately so the neighborhood is somewhat under construction but the house was very clean and in great shape. Paul is a very kind and responsive host.

A Lovely Beach House!

The house was clean and well stocked with all we needed for our vacation. The host was quick to respond to questions. The house for 10 with plenty of room for more. The location was incredible and great for beach days and exploring the area.

Me and my family really enjoyed our stay! The house was very clean and well kept. The kitchen is well stocked. Also comes with bed sheets and bath towels. Paul was great to speak with and answered any questions quickly. Great view of the ocean and short walk to beach. Very relaxing stay. Cant wait to go back!

Beautiful Retreat

I took a trip with my school organization officer team. The team consisted of 7 teenage girls and two adult chaperones. We all had plenty of space and enjoyed every part of this beautiful property. I highly recommend this stay for families or friends wanting a picture perfect getaway.

Fantastic!

We were a group of six adults and four kids (18 months - 6 years old) and everyone had a blast. The cottage is right on the water and on a dead-end street. Kids enjoyed building sand castles in the front yard and playing on the beach. House was perfect and cozy. We’ll be back!

65th Wedding Anniversary Celebration

What an incredible property! The views are amazing; what beautiful sunrises! Everything is immaculate. Plenty of room for our extended family of 8 to celebrate our parents' 65th wedding anniversary. My favorite party of the house is the sunporch, which we were able to enjoy even in the cooler weather. Paul is very responsive & quickly answered all of my questions. We would love to be able to stay here again!

The taste of Maine

House had everything you could possibly need for a comfortable family stay. The view from the sunporch was wonderful. The soft waves, colors of the water, and large granite rocks, with the occasional group of diving ducks and small fishing boats was a pleasant relaxing sight. We traveled to towns both north and south of Saco and found scenic sights and coastal towns. Plenty of homemade ice cream places and there are lobster rolls for $20 in a few places. We totally enjoyed it all:)

Relaxing & Revitalizing

The Boathouse Cottage more than lives up to its promise of being a beachfront family retreat. The house is well maintained and lovingly cared for. My brother and I spent three nights there to celebrate his birthday. The early May weather could not have been more cooperative. Indoors and out, everything needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay was provided. Communication with Paul, the owner/host, was outstanding. He provided detailed and helpful instructions prior to our arrival and was available by phone and very understanding when I had to contact him to report a mishap during our brief stay. I look forward to returning again.

Great waterfront spot

What a great spot for viewing the ocean! The swings overlooking the bay, the outside porch, and the three-season/sun room were all fabulous place to sit and enjoy the view and sea breezes. The beach roses surrounding the property filled the air with such a beautiful fragrance. We also enjoyed taking short walks along the breakwater shoreline, and the easy stroll to the beach was so convenient. The bedrooms were cozy, but we didn't need a lot of space to sleep. The number of bedrooms was perfect for our group. The walk-in shower was surprisingly nice. The host was very quick to answer questions and went out of his way to try to help us find something we were in of for the trip. We are grateful for our wonderful time at the Boathouse Cottage.
