This was the worst VRBO we have ever stayed at. To start, I had to reach out to the owner to get info on how to get into the house. We had a couple parties with us, and I told him that we wouldn't be arriving till late due to our drive down. The listing said the property was available at 4:00 pm for check in. One of the people in our party arrived around 5:00 pm and could not find the key. I called the owner and he said that the house keeper had the key and would he right back. She came back and refused to allow our party to enter the property until the owner arrived and locked up the garage and "pantry". We were not able to gain access to the residence till 7:10 pm. That is when the fun really began... The house was ill equipped to say the least. It also smelled moldy. In the kitchen things were placed sporadically throughout. We could only find 2 pans, and 1 sauce pan. We had 6 large plates and 3 small plates, 2 new rolls of toilet paper and a bunch of half rolls, along with no garbage bags. Barely any cups/ glasses existed in the house. We were given 7 towels for the entire weekend, with no access to a washing machine to wash them. One of the remotes was missing a battery. The entertainment center in one of the bedrooms was two pieces of a old bed frame and was not connected together. We were worried that it was going to fall over on one of the younger kids in our group. After contacting the owner he brought over a few more pans, toilet paper, garbage bags and paper towels. When he explained his reasoning to the limited supply, he kept telling us it was because people kept stealing from him. Cupboards were zip tied to prevent people from getting in. When we went to bed our first night, the sheets were disgusting. One bed had plastic jewels found between the sheets, and every bed had dirt and hair in between the sheets. Everyone stripped the comforters off and slept on blankets that we brought since we were so grossed out. In the morning everyone woke up and couldn't figure out why we were freezing throughout the night. Come to find out the heater was broken and was at 58 degrees. My husband contacted the owner at 7:15 am about the heat and explained that the heat wasn't working and that we have had one problem after another with him. The owner started yelling at my husband telling him that we were trying to sneak additional people in. We had 7 people in our party and due to our sitter testing positive for COVID right before we left, had 2.
