"Good location a short walk from the main station, with access to trams, metro and buses as well as trains. Good place to explore Lyon from. Room was comfortable and fine for a short stay (we stayed 2 nights) , staff very helpful. Breakfast was good."
"We had what we paid for. Very small room but also very small price. Beds were comfy and the room was air conditioned which was very appreciated during the heat wave. The check in staff was courteous and helpful. And the location was excellent for us. 10 minutes to old Lyon via subway, and walking distance to part-dieu to take the tram to the airport."
"We had a very friendly welcome. Really liked the bar/club area where you can help yourself to hot drinks, soft drinks and snacks. It provided welcome refuge in the heat. On an evening staff come round taking orders for drinks /aperitifs.
We booked a premium room with amazing views across the river to the Notre Dame Cathedral. The mattress was comfy. Unfortunately however the room was small for two people with limited storage. The bathroom is cramped and also affords little privacy from your partner. The balcony is small and didn’t feel particularly safe. The big issue was the aircon which unfortunately was nowhere near adequate for the weather we’re increasingly getting and the room was uncomfortably warm. I knew this would be an issue as soon a I saw the outdated control button. We didn’t complain as there’s little staff could do and I’m sure they’re well aware what it’s like having to work there everyday.
Breakfast has a large offering but less so if you’re vegan like us. There was just about enough with plant-based milks and yoghurts but it would be easy to add a few extra things with universal appeal like mushrooms, spinach or some avocados.
Location is excellent, convenient for the main attractions but pretty quiet. The rooms are well insulated from the sound outside with double windows.
Overall we liked the hotel, enjoyed our stay and the staff were lovely. We feel sad leaving some negativity but we would not stay again due to the small room and inadequate aircon."
"The staff was incredible. We got to the property and realized we had accidentally booked for next year and didn’t have a reservation oops and the person at the front desk was so sweet and helpful. She got us a great room right away and was extremely kind. It would’ve been such a stressful situation had it not been for the amazing hospitality from the Citadine staff. We loved our stay there as the room was in the perfect location and extremely spacious, clean and newly renovated. We stayed during a major heat wave and were very grateful for the air conditioning in the room. Proximity to the main train station was a major plus so we can easily go to our next city after our stay. The food in the area was incredible and there’s a massive food hall across the street. Overall glad we made that accidental reservation for next year because we will surely be back!"
"Beautiful hotel located near some amazing Roman sites, the grounds of the hotel are beautiful, great pool and great staff! Highly recommend, proper 5 star experience!"
