"We stayed at Highlander Mountain House for our 5-year wedding anniversary and overall the property itself is beautiful. The rooms were clean, the design and atmosphere are amazing, and the location is one of our favorites in Highlands. We also loved The Ruffed Grouse and the overall experience of the hotel. The only downside was the noise situation during our stay. The hotel was fully booked with a wedding party, and unfortunately the guests in the room next to us were extremely loud both Thursday and Friday night, continuing well past 1am. We even politely asked them ourselves to keep it down, but it continued. I completely understand people are celebrating and having a special weekend, but when rooms are this close together, there should be a little more consideration for other guests staying at the property, especially those also there for quiet getaways or anniversaries. I also think the hotel staff should take more precautions when hosting full wedding weekends to help separate non-wedding guests or better manage noise expectations late at night. It honestly put a damper on what was otherwise a really special anniversary trip for us, which is disappointing because everything else about the property was wonderful."
