We had an amazing but unique stay. due to last minute events completely out of the owner's control, this place we had booked was no longer available and thus the owner offered a refund or a chance to stay in his own home so we werent stranded. He picked me and my friend up separately form the airport (arrived at different times). He and his wife then proceeded to feed us with phenomenal breakfast and dinners each night and shuttled us to the conference each morning. He has a lovely family and was honestly one of the nicest people I've ever met. You can tell he takes great joy in being able to care for others. As I noted, this was a somewhat exceptional experience due to our circumstances but I wholeheartedly believe that he would be a great and hardworking host in any capacity.
