"The host was attentive, but the place was under renovation, and he didn’t tell us ahead of time. There were holes in the walls, the shelves were dirty and the whole air was dingy. We had to ask for a kettle and pots and pans. There was no sponge or fairy liquid or sponge to clean the plates. The cooker didn’t work; we had to wait until the night (11 pm) for it to work. "Property is ideally located on Bute. Beautiful views from the front porch. People tend to sit out there and smoke so not too relaxing if you want to breathe fresh air. The bar tender was very friendly and helpful with recommendations. The food was typical of Scotland. The hotel is very old is it is what was expected of a hotel of that age."
