Gorgeous home in an ideal neighborhood!
The home is absolutely stunning, both inside and out; as gorgeous as they are, the listing pictures couldn’t possibly do the property justice. The home’s interior is well-appointed, beautifully designed and decorated, and comfortable; the exterior is a dream—especially the large courtyard, where we enjoyed several meals. The location is ideal, with easy access to shopping, dining, Balboa Park, Coronado Island, La Jolla, and other attractions. Despite being convenient to everything the San Diego area has to offer, the neighborhood is peaceful and very safe. The only consistent noise was that of planes flying overhead, which our family really enjoyed (especially the kids). The owner lives nearby and respected our space while also going out of her way to make sure our stay was comfortable. We cannot wait to return to Casa Paloma! Thank you for making our vacation such a wonderful experience.

Wonder home base for San Diego
Rented the property for 5 day stay in San Diego as a family of 4 with 2 elementary school age kids. The house was clean and had everything you could want for the stay. Plenty of room for our family and was convenient to all the things we were looking to do. It is located ona quiet cul-de-sac and we looked the outdoor space to enjoy our morning coffee or read our books in the morning.

Casa Paloma is an Oasis!
This charming house was immaculate, and has so much character! Everything needed was provided, and where it should be. The front and back courtyards are wonderful! The neighborhood is quiet, friendly, safe, and convenient to everything, while also being off the beaten path. The beds and other furniture are very comfortable, and though we didn't use the Murphy bed, we checked it out, and it was amazing. So many special touches throughout the house and gardens! The hosts were very accessible and responsive throughout our 6 night visit. Casa Paloma is everything you could ask for in a vacation rental.

Amazing week in San Diego!
We had a wonderful stay at Casa Paloma! We stayed for a week and had everything that you would need to feel right at home for a week. They have thought about everything, including leaving the local grocery store discount card which was quite beneficial. The location is great as we weren’t further than 20 mins from any major landmark. It was a very quiet no outlet street with street parking right outside your secured entryway. The private courtyard was quite peaceful! We would absolutely stay here again should we find ourselves back in San Diego!

Quiet hideaway
This lovely home fit us perfectly: Well-equipped kitchen, plenty of comfortable spots to relax, and a beautiful back yard. The location at the end of a cul de sac meant no traffic noise and easy parking. And we were close enough to dine, shop, and enjoy Hillcrest/San Diego when we wanted.

This is our second time at the property and we loved it again. The home is very charming and conveniently located. It really feels like the owner has thought through everything a guest might want during their stay. We had our infant and toddler with us this time and the house worked well for our family of 4.

Great Stay
Stayed here with my family (adults and kids) and it was excellent! It had everything we needed and more. The owners are very kind. Place is even larger than it appears. Though this home is in front of the owners home, they make sure to give privacy. We would definitely stay again!

Fantastic house!
Cute house in a great neighborhood. The owners have thought through nearly every detail, so we needed nothing from them. The house is in great condition and the landscaping is very pretty. Parking in the street was pretty easy. The neighborhood was quiet. This was our first positive short term rental stay in awhile so thanks to the hosts!

Beautiful, comfortable home away from home
We totally loved our stay at Casa Paloma. The house is beautifully furnished with comfortable beds and linens, great lighting, lots of storage, a nice living room, and the best equipped kitchen we’ve ever seen in a rental — with everything one could want, from great knives, to a salad spinner, to a milk frother! The house has a small front courtyard and a larger courtyard with a fountain that attracts hummingbirds, pretty plants, and views of the sunrise. It’s located close to the airport yet on a quiet court with no airplane noise. Hillcrest neighborhood has cafes, restaurants, shopping, and Balboa Park all within walking distance, as well as easy access to downtown and points north. Paula was a wonderful host, easy to communicate with and very accommodating. We plan to return!

Great place in a great area
We really enjoyed stay at this great home in a great area in SD. Close to everything would be the best way to put it. Walking distance to some great restaurants and bars/grills pizza joints to higher end dinning. Seamed to be about 10 min from everything we wanted to do. The Zoo,SeaWorld, Midway museum just to name a few. Property was clean and welcoming well thought out with everything you may need and clean and in its place. Easy check in and out. Host was very helpful in the little things we did need. Nice folder with all the local information with things to do and place to dine and visit. Everything about the house explained in detail.... Have stayed in a few other VRBOs but non have been so well laid out. The owners/ hosts are doing this one right. Keep up the good work. We will be back for sure.

Lovely as described
This place was great. Exactly as shown in pictures. Loads of natural light, also plenty of lamps at night, quiet street, no one ever parking directly in front of the house(?? that doesn't even happen at home for me), stocked with everything you can think of, gorgeous courtyard, great TV package, games, cookware, everything. The intro & guide was outstanding. The bed was very comfy and the plethora of blankets was generous. The gate out front plus the front door made me feel very safe. I was a little nervous that the bay window makes the entire living room visible to the street but honestly no random people wandered by or even looked at the house, the only ppl I saw were just residents and workmen. I am very sensitive to noise while sleeping so I worried a bit about the fountain, but it's on a timer that shuts off (maybe 10p?) and doesn't turn on til 9am. 👍 I did feel the bedrooms could have used chairs but I just moved the ones from the living room. Hosts were amazing, I neither heard or saw them (as I prefer) until I needed batteries for the TV remote-I texted and they came right over. Very friendly. Practicalities (not a con, just not for everyone): not sure it would work for ppl needing ADA acommodations. The master suite was huge but it was a long way to the bathroom which ended quite narrowly. The other bedroom suite had a fairly tiny bathroom. The front steps were slightly uneven. This is not unexpected in an older home, just something to consider. We did not use: murphy bed, bbq grill, beach toys, baby gear but it all looked good and ready to go.

Beautiful home
This home is so comfortable and spacious. Everything about this home is wonderful. The kitchen is fully equipped if you want to cook and the bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. Loved the fireplace as it was chilly at nite. Paula was always available to answer our questions. Hillcrest is a very cute neighbour hood and is walkable and all the other locations are very close by, and easy to hail an Uber. You will not be disappointed if you stay here!

Amazing!
We stayed here for a week and loved the place. Quiet neighbourhood out of town but easy Uber distance and Ubers plentiful. The property is stunning and comfortable. Well equipt with lovely toiletries and kitchen equipment. Paula had thought of everything, we didn’t need for anything. Communication was excellent. We received an online property guide a week in advance. When we had any questions Paula replied straight away and was super helpful. Can’t rate this place enough. Would definitely recommend. We stayed in three places on our vacation and this was our absolute favourite by far.

Best vacation home that we have ever stayed in!
The home is even better in person, in a great location close to all that San Diego has to offer, very responsive property manager, home was immaculately clean, infant accessories were provided so we didn't have to worry about packing big items, and the host furnished the home with plenty of basic supplies like towels/toilet paper/beach gear/paper towels/shampoo/conditioner/body wash - all were easy to find and labeled. We will definitely make this home our regular vacation spot!

Fantastic retreat
This little house was the perfect retreat for our stay in San Diego. We needed a place to unwind and relax from somewhat stressful visits with aging, needy parents and this place fit the bill perfectly. Everything was very organized and clean. The kitchen is very well appointed and the bedrooms, baths and Murphy bed worked well for the four of us. My wife and I particularly loved the cozy courtyard at the back of the house including a fountain and pool with pleasant water sounds. The fountain can be turned off if you prefer no flowing water sounds. We just completely made ourselves at home with ease and the time flew by. We look forward to staying here again for future visits!

Beautiful Home & Incredibly Well Equipped!
We were so lucky to have found this beautiful home for our 9 day stay in San Diego! This was one of the best-equipped homes of any vacation rental we have ever stayed in - from almost every kitchen gadget you could need, to basic cooking needs, extra towels and blankets, cleaning & laundry supplies, gas fireplace, beach gear, games, etc. The home itself is well maintained and the dreamy courtyard & back patio areas provide a tranquil setting. No dedicated parking/driveway but street parking was never an issue and we loved seeing many of the neighborhood homes decorated for Halloween. The location is central to many SD sights and we were able to quickly reach Balboa Park, Downtown, & Liberty Public Market with Coronado & other nearby areas within a 20-30 min drive as well. The hosts even provide a very in-depth binder with local information! We would absolutely recommend this home to anyone looking for a cozy stay in SD!

Keith and Paula were tremendous hosts! This property is perfect in every way. Well appointed in every way. The decor was casual and very inviting. We enjoyed the patio every morning for breakfast and evening for a drink. Located close to most attractions we were visiting San Diego for, we found our drive times to be manageable. Great House. Amazing Location!
Casa Paloma was a great choice for our family of 4. We even had room to invite my parents to join us. We were close to great restaurants and all San Diego has to offer. The house was fully stocked with all the necessities (towels, extra pillows, blankets, kitchen stuff, etc). But the best part was the private courtyard. We hung out outside every single night we were there.

Casa Paloma was truly a hidden gem. It is a very well appointed home in a lovely neighborhood. The landscaping of the back courtyard reminded us of St Tropez. This is one time when the pictures don’t reflect the intangibles of the property. It made for a wonderful trip experience.

Local Stay-cation
My family and I stayed at Casa Paloma for a whole month, and it was an amazing month! We typically live in north county San Diego, and used this as a little family "stay-cation" to enjoy & explore all the sights in Balboa park, downtown, and the waterfront. The location of Casa Paloma is PERFECT for this! Also, Paula and Keith are wonderful hosts who made us feel so welcome. They both gave us privacy but also were available anytime we had a question or needed help. Do yourself a favor and book this fantastic property! :)

We LOVED hosting Julian (and family) for their month-long visit to Mission Hills, San Diego. They were very ideal guests and we look forward to hosting their next visit to Casa Paloma! If the family decides to relocate to Mission Hills, we welcome them as neighbors! We always asks our guests how we can improve their experience and we want to share special thanks for their heads up to restock basic first aid kit supplies (such as Band-Aids). We take guest feedback seriously and purchased a brand new “American Red Cross 358 Piece First Aid Kit” fully stocked for future guests, and will keep a better eye when supplies run low. We appreciate guests who are not afraid to give us such honest and valuable feedback as we believe in “continuous improvement”. So many of our upgrades over the last nine years (installing a new air conditioning unit, or buying a French coffee press, grapefruit spoons, egg cups, additional seating in the living room, better Wifi to reach the courtyard, and new mattresses) were suggestions of our pasts guests and we LOVE the feedback! Outstanding property
Among many rental experiences, this was the best equipped house and the most responsive host that we have encountered. This is a spacious home with comfortable seating and a delightful outdoor sitting areas. The kitchen is outfitted with everything one could need for cooking for a couple or dinner party. The house is conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood in easy walking distance from groceries, bakery, cheese shop and many restaurants. We were welcomed on arrival with an array of fruit, salami, cheese and wine. We highly recommend this house.

We loved this cozy home. They went the extra mile by supply poinsettias and other Christmas decor. We met family in San Diego to share a day of Christmas celebrations and this home had everything we needed. Everyone Loved it and made comments about how nice, cozy and clean this home is. This property is 10 out of 10 in every aspect. My wife and I visited in late Oct, for just under a week and loved our stay. Casa Paloma is immaculate and meticulously maintained - it had everything we needed and is located in an area that provides easy access to all of San Diego's favourite attractions. We loved our stay! So do yourself a favour, if you're considering visiting San Diego – this has to be on your list of places to stay ! You'll want for nothing.

We had a lovely stay.
My husband and I visited for a week. The house was very clean, and matched the website description perfectly. However, the living room has been redecorated and you should look at the final pics of the property for an accurate view. Idk, why they left old pics of the living room up at the beginning, but if that matters to you, you should be aware. As I said everything was very clean and the house was well stocked with essentials. There are nearby grocery stores, restaurants, etc. the hosts left a handy guide for area attractions as well, as well as super market club cards so we could get store discounts. The grounds are lovely and well-maintained, with a soothing fountain in the courtyard. It is very pleasant to hear the fountain from the bedroom at night. The house is near the airport and you can hear the airplanes. Neither my husband nor I were bothered by this On the whole, I think this is a very nice property and I would stay here again.

Family Time at Casa Paloma
We had an amazing week at Casa Paloma. The owners made us feel like we were checking into a resort over a home, and made everything simple and seamless. (Which is important as we travel with our 3 young children) The property is beautiful and full of character with a private wrap-around courtyard complete with fountain and lots of places to sip coffee in the morning or wine in the evening. Watching the hummingbirds was a favorite for our kids! The manual for the stay was full of information for the home and neighborhood, which we enjoyed the recommended restaurants and shops. The house sits in a quiet neighborhood and we always felt safe. The house was clean and comfy, plenty of room and storage, laundry and any kitchen appliance you could need. It was nice not having to get umbrellas or beach equipment as the owners have that provided. We really felt like it was home for the week and are hoping to stay on our next visit to San Diego!

Perfect Beach Getaway
When I drove up to the home, it was so nice to see that it was in a quiet cul-de-sac. I was greeted by two gorgeous turquoise gates to the entrance. I loved the extra locked gated privacy to the very inviting front, private patio. The patio bistro chairs is where I sat to enjoy my coffee in the morning taking in the salty, beach air watching the hummingbirds fly in and out of the very large palm trees; feels like a tropical oasis. EVERY SINGLE DETAIL was attended to as I entered the home! If you need “something” it is there. Paula and Keith left us a beautiful bottle of wine with a note to celebrate our anniversary along with many recommendations for food, hikes, and entertainment. I asked a question about walking in the neighborhood and Paula had three fantastic walks mapped out with wonderful stopovers at local restaurants for drinks or a bite to eat in Hillcrest. The quaint little town of Hillcrest has so many choices to eat and relax, you’ll never get bored. During the stay in the evening I opened the back patio off the master bedroom. I let the cool beach air in at night and was lulled to sleep by the sound of the fountain from the very inviting patio surrounded by lush palm trees and ivy. The Spanish decor and architecture of the home is so inviting you almost don’t want to leave, but there is so much to do in San Diego. The home is central to all things San Diego and a short Uber to Balboa Park was on the agenda. After a long day out exploring, an evening of a GrubHub Cafe Sevilla Spanish food for delivery with assorted tapas hit the spot! We spend a lot of time in San Diego and I will never stay anywhere else again. Thank you Paula, Keith and Cindy for the first class experience!

San Diego Comfort
Casa Paloma is located in an area that provides easy access to all of San Diego's favorite attractions. The very clean and updated home is perfect for 2 couples or a family with children. There is lovely patio with plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the comfortable San Diego weather. The kitchen is very well stocked so that you can do plenty of cooking, and sit out on the patio to enjoy your meal. The home is air conditioned, has a washer and dryer, good wifi, and also has a DVR to record a program if needed. In addition, the owners were very responsive to all of our needs, and they also provide a very helpful digital handbook for the house. I highly recommend this home to anyone who would like to enhance their visit to San Diego.
