  • It's a little bit funky, it's a little bit retro, and it's ALL beachy fun!

    Located in the heart of one of San Diego's most famous beach communities and within walking distance to the ocean and to the heart of the Ocean Beach community, our place offers everything you might need to rest, rejuvenate and have some fun in San Diego!

    Not only are we right down the street from shopping, restaurants and entertainment, but we are mere minutes from San Diego's best beaches, including Pacific Beach, La Jolla and Del Mar. Sea World is right around the corner, Balboa Park is just a hop, skip and a jump away, and the Gaslamp District is about 10 minutes down Interstate 5. Let's just say we're about 10 minutes from almost any place you might want to visit in our amazing city, as well as the San Diego International Airport!

    This home is a tastefully designed one-bedroom with a full kitchen that can sleep four. Our beach cottage features a queen-sized bed, along with a very comfortable sofa sleeper. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, and amenities include free parking, free Wi-Fi, and Apple TV.

    You will have access to the entire bungalow and all amenities, including the front yard outdoor space and, of course, sunny San Diego!

    If you’re looking for a laid back beach to hang out like a local, look no further than Ocean Beach. This small beach town is a favorite among locals who spend their days surfing, sun bathing around the pier, hanging out and strolling through the many surf shops, taco stands and antique malls. Ocean Beach offers the pitch perfect throw-back groovy vibe of vintage SoCal, coupled with friendly locals, great dining, and a vibrant night life scene.

    Nestled between the San Diego River and the hills of Point Loma, Ocean Beach is perfect for surfers to enjoy the waves created by jetties. The beach is super friendly for swimmers and sun bathers!

    Getting around

    A rental car is strongly recommended! Otherwise, Uber, Lyft and taxicabs are the best bets, but mediocre SoCal public transportation is also available. ;)

Great location! Close to great food options and beach was walkable. A cute little bungalow with great plants around the outside. Would be perfectly suited for a couple. There were limited linens and the kitchen was also pretty limited (ex. three bowls, only serrated knives). Beach towels, chairs, and sand toys were provided which was very appreciated. It got warm, so we were grateful for the many box fans. Property has seen some wear and tear since the pictures were taken, but is a great place to stay for the price point.

This place was fine for what we needed. However, it was incredibly dirty! The floors were full of dirt. The bedroom and bathroom had mold growing on the ceiling. The bedding and towels smelled terrible, to the point where I’m thinking they were not washed. The location and size were great.

Can’t beat the location

This was just perfect for our stay. Can walk easily to get coffee, food, and explore the local scene. Fun people watching at the beach and don’t forget to go to Sunset Cliffs at low tide.

We took a short trip to san diego for our birthday and we really enjoyed the location of this place. The only downside is it is close tk the airport and you can hear the planes, but nothing some ear plugs or unisom wont fix haha

Lovely, bungalow and fantastic location!

We absolutely loved our stay in this bungalow. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Our daughter slept great on the pullout couch and there was plenty of space for all of us. The location is exceptional. The main street had many fantastic, unique shops, and restaurants. And it is just minutes to a beautiful beach. We will definitely be back!

We enjoyed our stay at the beach house! It is in a great location. The house is close to town with restaurants, stores, the beach, etc. Inside, the house is a bit dated, but for the price and location, it was well worth it. The owner was very responsive when we had questions and communicated with us throughout our stay as needed.

Ocean Beach Retreat

The accommodations where clean and inviting. Host communicates well. Walking distance to the beach, restaurants, bars and shops. Only suggestion would be a space heater and area rugs for the bedroom during the winter months as it was definitely colder than normal for San Diego. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This place was lovely, clean comfortable, and OB is a really charming location, this unit is easy walk to the beach and with plenty of great food options in the area, also easily walkable.Truly, once you park your vehicle, you really won’t need to get in it again until you leave.We can warmly recommend.The owner was very accessible and very accommodating when any issues arose.

Pricy for basic digs. Living room furniture needs big upgrade. Couldn’t get Netflix to work. I get retro but Folgers coffee in place that is 250 per night and no sugar? Parking great. Cute neighborhood. Comfortable bed.

The property was easy to find; check-in was a breeze; and the parking space behind the building was a bonus as O.B. fills up quickly with beach traffic! I had minimal contact with Drew, but when I did reach out via Vrbo, he promptly responded!I also liked that there were plenty of towels!Cons - the property looked a little worse-for-wear when compared to online photos.The neighbors across the way bickered loudly, and with their door open, nearly every night. I used to live in O.B. and I'd say that this bungalow gives the full O.B. experience. All in all, it was a place to sleep, far enough from the noise of Newport, but a close enough walk to the beach. Thanks guys!

Cute bungalow

Very cute beach bungalow. 10 minute walk to beach. Five minute walk to eateries. Very close to lots of places such as Old Town and SDSU. Sunset cliffs were gorgeous. Lots of amenities in the place. Extra sheets and towels. Coffee maker was appreciated. Only suggestion is to bring earplugs as walls are thin and we did hear guests in adjacent unit. Owners were very responsive to questions.

The property could have been cleaner overall. There were no sheets for the pull out couch. We needed to use the fans, but not all of them worked and they were very dirty. I needed to dust and clean them before using them. The location was great and near to where family were staying.

This location is awesome and a great "bro pad". Definitely suited best for a couple or single person who is wanting to explore Ocean Beach. The accomodations for a third guest were not ideal so something to consider. Believe them when they say the place is aged. Cute décor, great location but could use some improvements (many of which I suggested for the next traveler(s).). Although our last morning there wasn't ideal, the communication with the owner and the response to our concerns were addressed quickly. Hopefully they took the feedback and put it to good use!
