The former home of a writer and educator, this 1920's historic bungalow has been completely restored to provide a very comfortable stay at America's finest beach. Just steps from the boardwalk and beach (three houses from the boardwalk) and near Belmont Park and the Roller Coaster, the house comes equipped with all you will need for the perfect vacation. Kayak, beach chairs, sand toys, garage parking and an extra outdoor hot water shower.

Please know that this is not a new "cookie-cutter" condo. If you need to have everything "brand new", you should consider newer construction. Retaining Mission Beach history is very important to us. Thanks for understanding.

The master bedroom has a queen bed and flat screen TV. The second bedroom has bunk beds with a single and double. The comfortable futon in the living room makes into a double, where there is another flat screen TV. We also have a Pack N Play for your toddler.

The shelves are lined with over 300 quality books of all varieties. I keep the prices very affordable compared to any other stand alone house in Mission Beach, so it books out very well. Many people really like this historic-style cottage feel rather than 'all-the-same' condos that line much of the beach, and for good reason. The hard-wood floors and Dutch-door in the front provide a nostalgic step back in time, while enjoying the upgrades to the cottage over the years.

World famous Sea World is five minutes away and the San Diego Zoo is ten minutes. World class dining can be enjoyed in downtown's Gaslamp Quarter, a ten minute drive. Mission Beach offers nightly sunsets, biking, sailing, rollerblading, surfing, boating, a roller coaster and the country's most entertaining people-watching.

Just returned from an unforgettable stay at this charming beach house, and I cannot stop thinking about the unbelievable location! Seriously, you could not get any closer to the ocean. Stepping out the door and hearing the waves crash right there was pure magic. The house is very cute. It is dated but definitely adorable. The garage is a very tight fit. It was chilly one morning & the heater wasn't working. We contacted the owner & it was taken care of that day. We had an amazing week being so close to the beach was fantastic.

Fantastic location; lots of character; plenty of space including washer and dryer; the kitchen needs a few items but it's fine for beach living for a week and there are plenty of places to walk to get coffee and breakfast so no need to cook anyway. Parking in the garage is a real plus, but the car has to be small to fit. Mission Beach is very crowded.

We’ve been staying at the beach cottage for a few years now. My kiddos were devastated when we couldn’t come last year, so it was super important to us to be able to come back this summer. Wonderful Stay

The location was fantastic—couldn't have asked for a better spot for the price! The owner was incredibly responsive, even through VRBO messaging, which made the entire experience seamless. This house is all about location! Steps to the beach and a short walk to Belmont park. The perfect place to stay with kids. Love that they had lots of boogie boards and beach chairs to use. My daughters had a blast. Also, it has a garage which is a bonus! My family loved staying here.

Perfect Beach Getaway in Mission Beach!

My family and I are from Minnesota and stayed here for the weekend cause we had a wedding to go to. We loved it, very very close to the beach and all the attractions around. Cute cottage

So first I have to give a shout-out to David the property manager, he was GREAT! Location was close to Belmont so the kids had a blast and steps to the beach. Whenever I had a question for David, he responded quickly. Parking was great, I have a large SUV and there were two parking spaces for me. Washer and dryer on premises so no spending hours at a laundromat and wasting quarters. Love it and would recommend this place highly.

Very outdated and unkept. No entrance through the front door. Ants were abundant in the living area. All of the fans were filthy and or rusty. Location was nice..but otherwise would not recommend

Quaint Beach House

The location of this cottage was perfect - walking distance to the beach and restaurants. The owner was friendly and responded quickly. Dave accommodated a late check out so we could enjoy nice weather before heading home. The home was clean and had great décor of artifacts and books and provided all the necessary household goods. The kitchen was stocked well, but the cooking items were very old. The beds were okay, mattress could be replaced/updated. This cottage and location was a great value for the price.
