Happened to stay while the owner was visiting, he was very cordial. The road leading up to the property was a bit rough, which I didn’t expect in my (cheap) rented sedan. But the staff overall was very friendly. The shower was hot (something I’ve struggled to find in Nicaragua). The traditional nica breakfast was good. The room was great and the view was even better! Were definitely satisfied overall and would recommend to anyone visiting San Juan del Sur

Lovely place, a bit out of the way. Rooms are small, and not that comfortable. The place is very noisy and you can hear the people next door talking. The view and pool are spectacular. The food was very good.

Romantic oasis in the forest

A fantastic calm and romantic oasis in the middle of the forest, with a welcoming and helpful staff serving nice drinks and food. The beautiful colourful area is surrounded by birds and a breathtaking ocean view, leaving lots of room for romance. There were insects in the hotel unfortunately, as an unavoidable consequence of the forest location and the road up to the hotel was a bit tricky because of the rain season, but the local taxi drivers handled it well. The hostess was very calm and comfortable.

The view and the pool is amazing. The stuff also is friendly and a free parking spot is also available. The breakfast is delicious and combined with the view definitely a highlight. The room was a bit too much basic and there was no hot water in the shower. Also no power outlet in the bathroom which made some things a bit difficult. The room could be a bit more beautiful. Overall it was ok amd we enjoyed our stay

Upon checking in my card was swiped for a charge less than the hotels.com price that I paid earlier in the month..when questioned I got no answer. Sheets were scuffed and stained and just placed on the mattress. On our last night someone left a tap running in a room on the same level as us. Room 7, and I woke up at 1030pm to a flooded room with half an inch of water that had soaked my computer bag. Managed to track down the nite manager who I helped clean up the wet floors with mops, broom and towels. The next day when I checked out there was no attempt by any of the staff to acknowledge or apologize for what had happened. I was then charged for supplemental food as expected. When I returned to pick up my bags I was then told they had shorted me the bill and i still owed 12, more. One would think that all the inconvenience of a flooded bedroom would have at least warranted some sort credit but nothing was offered. Instead I just received a glazed look and an additional bill. Not surprised this property is for sale !!!!! I will never return.

Very good hotel. I love how Raiza waited for us until late around midnight. She was very helpful, kind with hotel directions and I loved our room amazing view and the hotel, the breakfast was so yummy. The only thing was it’s spring the pool needed to be more clean we found several flowers folding and bees but over all hotel was excellent, clean and with an gorgeous view to the ocean. We can wait to visit again. I highly recommend this hotel El Jardin.! Thank you Ivy U. Possekel

Had many issues with Davide.. manager. He was not truthful about meal and bar costs... not one staff person showed or opened restaurant till after 7:30 am. Was told they would do our laundry for a fee and would be ready next morning. NOT ready by 8:30( when we were leaving) and told the dryer wasn’t working.. left with soaking wet clothes. Sat on bench on deck which collapsed under me...luckily not hurt. All said ...Davide should not be managing this hotel.

El Jardin Hotel & Restaurant - Best place ever

We visited El Jardin in February 2018, and it was a great vacation. The hotel staff was exceptional, and they went out of there way to make our stay fantastic. Everything on the menu is exceptional, and we nearly tried everything. It's about 10 minutes from San Juan Del Sur, and a $5.00 cab ride. We hope to be back soon, and definitely are returning to El Jardin.
