El servicio exelente solo que el cuarto que nos toco esta junto a la calle y fue muy ruidoso toda la noche con la gente que pasava, no tienen secadora de pelo, no televicion y

Somos un B&B de descanso, Entendemos su molestia, ya que nos comento que no puede dormir sin el televisor. Sin embargo, contamos con un televisor en el lobby. Nuevamente, gracias por expresar su sentir.

The lovely staff and owners were attentive and warm. It’s a colonial house with a sweet sweet garden. The fact that it has only 11 rooms creates a feeling of home with guests and staff greeting each other in a familial and warm way.

A true gem of a stay! Perfectly located one block from the main plaza. The breakfast was delicious. The bedding was perfect. The old colonial building is kept in very good shape. Beautiful inside courtyard. The staff was super courteous. We will most definitely go back.

Very friendly, efficient and accommodating owners and staff, reasonably priced, perfect location close to main square, lovely older building with gorgeous courtyard full of beautiful plants, spacious room, comfortable bed, heater, hot shower, excellent breakfasts with variety of options to choose from, tequila and tea always available. Highly recommend!

After a day of walking all over the place in this town you want to Freshen up and having no water pressure can be frustrating. The staff and maintenance staff was nice and attempted to fix our water problems because at one time we didn't have water so we couldn't flush the toilet, sink, or shower. We were told by the maintenance guy that San Miguel has a water pressure problem. Location is great but as far as amenities you are better off doing an Airbnb. There was no TV, no Radio, and there was a ceiling fan. They were able to hold our bags while we waited for our room and accommodate an early check in. There was a language issue but I was hoping there wouldn't be because they advertise they cater to English speakers. Our travel agency attempted to contact them and couldn't communicate as well because of the language barrier. Overall, you're paying for location. If you're looking for a small, basic amenities place then this is your spot.

This is not a hotel, it's a very bad B&B. Staff is not prepared. It is unsafe. Very bad experience.

Si, asi es. Es un B&B, fuimos el primero en San Miguel de Allende, hace mas de 61 anios. Para que nos puedan identificar, tenemos que poner 'hotel' Si, desde que Uds. llegaron se noto que no estaban agusto por la manera que trataron a mi personal. En cualquier hotel o B&B se les cobra por la persona adicional. Que tengan buena tarde.

Breakfast and location are the best qualities of this hotel. the house is pretty but rooms are very basic, no ac, no phone, no tv, wifi ok. The shower has no pressure so take your time and be patient. The staff is very nice also.

The property is very centrally located. The courtyard is absolutely charming courtyard. We were greeted by friendly stafff. There is free tequila in the lobby.

The hotel is ideally located 2 blocks from the Jardin. The staff were exceptionally friendly and courteous. the rooms are set around gracious courtyard setting. The climate being what it is in San Miguel, there is no AC so the only thing lacking would be a fan for the room on those hotter nights. thanks to John for all the expert advice on local activities and the kitchen staff for nummy Mexican eggs!

Wonderful, Historic, small boutique hotel
This small boutique hotel is ideally located in the center of San Miguel de de Allende. The beautiful owner/innkeeper is involved in the management of every aspect of the Inn, and she is committed to making each guest’s experience exceptional.

I have spend a weekend at this hotel recently, While I was pleased with the locationn of the hotel I expected more from the room where I stayed. I have stayed at other places in SMdA and liked the hospitality of management and service a lot better.

This place is very conveniently located at the very center of San Miguel, close to restaurants and shops. The room was charming, typical San Miguel kind of building with antique decor, the bed was very comfortable with great pillows. They had hand-made soap bars, We didn't have breakfast but the restaurant and common areas looked very nice, cute garden with lots of green , we sat there and enjoyed some coffee. We found a problem with the shower and got it fixed promptly Doors have no locks. The staff told us that the doors are antique so they cannot fix them to have locks, that's understandable.. and there is charm to antique furniture, Fortunately nothing happened during our stay, but it was hard not to feel nervous about leaving valuables there. Internet didn't work. Possibly because of the thickness of the walls. That was kind of annoying but it probably helped us relax. -energy plugs were awkward to use . We had to lay our cellphones on the floor in order to charge them. if you are coming by car, this place might not be your best choice. The hotel does not provide a place to park, there is a place that offers valet one block away, but it's very crowded , you will waste a lot of time having them get your car for you.

Hands down the best location period. Breakfast is included and you can expect a delicious breakfast not just toast and jam and Coffee but eggs, bacon, ham, ommelletes, refried beans, tea milkshakes etc. The level off attention is superb. Ask for Susana she will make you feel right at home. The hotel is a 300 y old house back from.the colonial days, but its well kept. Linens perfect and changed daily. No tv in room bit free wifi. Matress firm yet comfy. Very satisfied. Will be back for sure.

Second stay disappointment
We have stayed at this hotel previously, but when it was still under the original ownership. We were the only guests at the hotel and I'm guessing that it might be due to the fact that no staff spoke any English. My wife speaks Spanish so it was not a problem for us. Since San Miguel is so popular with Americans and Brits, we were surprised about the complete lack of English. This explains the 2 rating for hotel staff. Otherwise, our stay was very pleasant and the breakfast was the BEST we had on our entire trip. Really great value, but you will need some Spanish.

Overpriced
This is a tradicional mexican house at least 2 centuries old. Beautiful entrance and patio, good breakfast, nice people but there were no locks on the doors, not even the entry door, no A/C or fans, noisy, uncomfortable set up.

Pros: the place is really charming, breakfast is tasty and filling with plenty of choices, hotel is 1 block from main square. Abundant taxis around which take you anywhere for a couple of bucks

The hotel is just few blocks from the center of town, located in the heart of San Miguel. Very convenient to good restaurants, shops and interesting shops. The staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. A downside of being centrally located is the occassional 6am fireworks and incessant ringing of the church bells to celebrate a number of things. Locals apparently find this aspect of the experience part of the charm of being in the center of things. If you decide to go to San Miguel and stay in this B&B just be aware of this additional "charming" element. All this said I would recommend the B&B as well located, convenient, and friendly.

I would highly recommend Casa Carmen. It is centrally located near the jardin, shops, and restaurants. As a 400-500 year old historic building it is not the Hilton but the history and charm more than makes up for any differences between casa carmen and a newly-built facility. Going to an old colonial city warrants a colonial hotel. The owner Cynthia was very helpful at all times.

Great place to stay, near historic center
Hotel Casa Carmen is a great place to stay at in San Miguel. The hotel is close to all the main attractions and you can walk to the Parroquia, trolley stop, mercado, and shops. The staff were simply amazing! They are helpful, polite, and pleasant. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting San Miguel.

Colonial B&B in the heart of San Miguel
We spent a delightful week at Casa Carmen where we met couples who have been coming to this B&B for many years. Their loyalty is understandable due to the warm, welcoming and relaxed atmosphere of Casa Carmen, a centuries old charming colonial home. It is located two short blocks from the Jardin, the plaza that is the heart of the city, so you can easily come and go to experience the lively Jardin at different times of the day. Good restaurants are just across the street. The B&B though not luxurious is very comfortable, with spacious rooms and tall ceilings. There is a lovely large and sunny patio that invites you to read a book, enjoy a glass of wine, or chat with other guests. The satisfying breakfast is a good way to start the day. We hope to stay at Casa Carmen next time we return to San Miguel.

Very attractive colonial B & B.
We really enjoyed our stay at this small colonial B & B. The bedrooms are mostly large with no tubs only showers in the bathrooms. The breakfasts turned out to be a social meeting place as we all sat together at the same table. The food and service was excellent with a varied menu. Staff are very friendly and helpful which adds to the overall comfort. The courtyard is the focal point of the building; comfortable chairs, red walls, orange trees, gorgeous flowers and a beautiful working fountain in the middle. Lots of ambiance! Also, a perfect location close to the main square. We did arrive in San Miguel Allende in an unusually cold spell and the rooms were extremely cold due to the high ceilings, cement & tile construction. Thank goodness for the small heater supplied to every bedroom!! We must mention John, the hotel manager, who went out of his way to make our visit so memorable. Altogether, a very interesting holiday & we would not hesitate to return.

Nice hotel, convenient to city center
Casa Carmen is a small B & B located on the same street as the city square and just a couple of blocks away. The main church is in the square and the bells can be heard tolling during the daytime. The rooms are well furnished and very comfortable - even though they don't have central air or heat. We stayed there in early February and the temperature got down into the 40's, so the hotel provided in-room heaters which made the rooms comfortable. Breakfast was served in the dining room. It included cereals, eggs cooked to order, bacon, bread and marmalade freshly made from the orange trees on site. Lunch were available for about $6 -7 extra and were of local cuisine that varied daily. We found that several of the guests had been return for years and were staying for weeks at a time at Casa Carmen. The manager spoke good english and was very helpful in giving tips about SMA and making arrangements for transportation. When we return to SMA, we will stay at Casa Carmen.
