Everything about the condo, location, decor, equipment was superb. Lori, the property manager was in close contact with us leading up to the trip to let us know what to expect upon arrival and Ana, the on island contact, met us at the airport, and had a wealth of information about the island, restaurants, services available and was on call 24/7 if we needed her. The condo itselt was beautiful and spacious and had practically everything we needed for preparing our own meals. The view from the balcony was great, sunrises were spectacular, and we could even see the sunsets from the balcony of the master bedroom. Diego, the groundskeeper, was a big help with local information about where to get fresh seafood, as well as opening coconuts for us. Snorkeling Hol Chan is a must, just stunning. We also rented tandem kayaks from Grand Caribe (1/4 mile down the beach, $10/hr) to paddle out to the reef (1/4 mile out) to snorkel and fish right out front of the condo. Day trip to Caye Caulker was really nice, with lunch and drinks at the Lazy Lizard by the Split. Went to Secret Beach one day, had a lot of fun, water was beautiful there. Day trip with Seakarus, did the Survival Tour, caught yellowtail snapper, grouper and a nice barracuda (which was excellent eating to our surprise), also dove for conch and speared lobster, and they made fesh ceviche for us. Bought fesh lobster on beach from a local on a bicycle ($20 for 7 tails, small to medium), was very fresh and tasty. Also bought breakfast burritos from local on bike on the beach a couple of mornings, very good. Locals, as well as neighbors, were very friendly and helpful, always felt very safe (24hr security on site). All in all, a pefect trip and a perfect place to stay. We hope to return soon.
